Well, you know how they say people re-install every time it's mentioned. Also happy 15th b'day Deus Ex :)

I think there'll be more than a few doing that after this official Revision release!!

The mod is free, officially sanctioned by Sqaure Enix and available on Steam and thanks to the Stealth sale it's cheap as right now.

That's a pretty common problem people have with this game. It's really one of those frustrating things that should be fixed in the next patch.

I'm sure I've got 3 hard copies (you know DVDs) of this game and have yet to play it

People like you should be flogged and castrated. You've had 15 years. How do you look your partner in the eye each morning? You should be ashamed!

Totally agree with you, I'm ashamed of his lack of finishing old games which don't require him taking up my bandwith, he deserves a lengthy spanking :D

Re the music - dunno why you'd want to go back to the old music. Sure it was good but the new stuff is even better. I got stuck at the menu screen last night for 10 mins listening to the remade theme music

If you were being minimalist, would it be okay to simply install this and play? PCGamingWiki lists a whole bunch of things that are recommended but a lot of it is just upgraded textures or completely new (custom) content.

I thought this Revision thing was all about graphics/textures so you shouldn't need additional graphics things?

I would recommend Shifter mod. Minor fixes and ways to make the game a bit more interesting - more consistent (and generous?) XP gain method, can pick up combat knives (most enemies drop them) to use as throwing knives, some special weapons, think they fixed some of the augmentations too, small things like that (as far as I remember).

    EDIT:

    There's a complete list there

I believe Revision includes Shifter already but not 100% sure.

Yup you're right, checked the official website:

"Revision also includes the Shifter and BioMod modifications as alternate gameplay modes; Shifter adds various tweaks and unique weapons, spicing up the experience. BioMod offers a more distinct flavor, and introduces new gameplay mechanics while rebalancing how augmentations work within the game."

Played this for a few hours yesterday, quite enjoying it - although people say it's a bit dark, that's a bit of an understatement, it's got true darkness in it.

It's a good mod imo. I'm playing with Shifter enabled.
