Yeah, I gotta disagree with the 'looks like D3' thing.. I think ppl tend to forget. Obviously it's the same franchise so mobs and whatnot are pulled from the same lore base.. but they're vastly different in visual approach. Quick D3 vs D4 google pulled up: If they can maintain and do service to the tone they've set up with the cinematic and have some good gameplay mechanics which progress into some meaningful long term end game.. I'm in.
I'm hope they bring back the Paladin however with two "Melee" characters already unveiled and if the 5 characters rumour is true, i'm guessing probs not. I would expect a Rogue/Range type character and the Necro
Might be 5 to start with, with more coming later (similar to how D2 added the Druid and Assassin with the expansion. The always online makes it easy for them to add content and classes as well
No Crusader, no care. Made that mistake with D3, bought the game but just couldn't get into it until the expansion arrived.
As someone who bought D3 on launch and felt betrayed, I wish they went with Warcraft 4 instead. Then again, I haven't been excited about a Blizzard launch in a long time...
Don't get too excited... d3 was released 4 years after announcement... Remember the 'we doubled it' debacle?
Was there gameplay footage available within days of the announcement for D3? I know Blizz's old trick was to release a cinematic trailer and then go quiet for a couple of years
Would not be surprised, but i'm not sure, in theory though you would not need the original devs for a remaster of W3 though. They are working on a D2 remaster too(rumoured) which would be a lot more complicated and the original devs for D2 have certainly all left. Its probably just cheaper to outsource it. Anyway, hopefully they start announcing the other classes soon for D4
Well considering they're essentially just reskinning the game and none of the mechanics are being updated, I suppose outsourcing works. My point about the original staff leaving Blizzard is more hinting at the way the company is being run by more "corporate" types than with gamers in mind.
