I think D3 looked pretty good when it was brand new.. imo D4 will also look great(for RPG game) when it comes out and it should also run very fast(well optimized) since Activision/Blizzard have unlimited budget. So hopefully we can run D4 @ 5120x1440 or 4K max details(with RTX on) with ~RTX2070 performance GPU.
4K 60fps sounds reasonable since d4 will be launched on next gen consoles ( ps5 x box series x) post 2021.
You'd want to hope that where the stand attaches on the back is reinforced lol... all that side weight hanging off would make a nice failure point! And yes, I realise that they would have built it to cope. It just seems like a lot of overhang to have on one point.
The main dev lead for D3 was Jay Wilson who was mainly involved with rts games. He tried to reinvent the wheel then the real blizz devs like Josh Mosq. had to spend the years and expansions later making up for jays shitshow. Yes D3 vanilla was craptastically bad but heres hoping they learned from their mistakes.
It's funny. For a game (and xpac) that I paid ~100 for, then had a green drop that I got $200 for, so this game has paid me $100 and I've played it for well over a thousand hours, I don't know of a game that I've gotten better value or as much enjoyment out of. I played WOW for many many many wasted hours, and I can't jump back into wow now because of D3. The instant combat of D3 suits what I like to play
When WoW first came out, I bought the game for $60 NZD, played 3 months (free period), and sold my account for $750 NZD.
Heh I used to spend hours on AH/RMAH every day for $$$. The most expensive single item I sold was level63 super high dps sword with life steal(bought it for 2bil on AH) then sold it for ~$1000-$1200 month later. But I think most expensive D3 item was level63 super high dps wand(called Evoker's ???, with 99% crit dmg, no life steal), it got sold for ~28bil gold(~$2800) at it's peak afaik, then it got duped later so became much cheaper. Also sold Guild Wars mini pet Vizu for $1000 when the game was ~3 years old.
Latest update on D4 development https://news.blizzard.com/en-us/diablo4/23463858/diablo-iv-quarterly-update-june-2020
I am pretty excited about this. After every update I get all amped up, then remember it probably won't be out till at least September next year. I want it now, dammit!
New update is posted. The skill tree is massively better than what they previously had https://news.blizzard.com/en-us/diablo4/23529210/diablo-iv-quarterly-update-september-2020
The tree idea looks very cool,. but not sure how long it would take until it gave me the shits. Many times simpler is always better.
