The team behind this remaster seems promising, watching the live stream now and they've paid attention to a heap of details to stay faithful to the original

But still going to wait and see, can't trust activision/blizzard to not hamstring this somehow

This is pretty interesting. I wonder if/how they'll manage that across different platforms?

I guess the way Civ 6 does cross-platform saves - you sign in to your account with the publisher on all the platforms you own the game and your saves are waiting for you.

I'm stoked for this, it'll be awesome!

Possibly like how Genshin impact does it. It's always online, your game is available across ios/android and PC. There is a PS4/5 version too but that does not allow cross save so your game is only available on PS4/5.

Super keen for this. I've recently been playing Project Diablo 2 and it is fantastic.

Optional please at most. It should be togglable if they have an offline/SP mode. I can't say I agree with your take my preference is to treat Diablo as a loot grinder and I want to redo over and over to get those sweet sweet drops but I don't see why they couldn't implement it in only an SP/offline sense. I'm doubtful however as this will likely be 'always online' compared to classic D2.

As soon as I ready about this I was sold - the amount of times I've played thig game is ridiculous, it's one of those games that just seems to have a tonne of replay value.

I bet people will complain about Diablo 2 and lack of end game.

This, i could reinstall it tonight and have tons of fun playing it again. Its so simple, yet complicated.

I watched this short documentary style thing not that long, about how diablo was meant to be turned base. Worth a watch about the original games development with stories from the original developers

I would imagine the majority of people will end up creating useless builds and starting from scratch many times or rage quitting.

Love how its not a new game from the ground up but acts as a layer sitting on top of the original game with QOL features, better graphics and sound etc.

I was sooooo pumped for C&C remaster then few hrs in was like "oh done this enough over the years" and never went back..

Will this just be a short nostalgia fest or has the staying power? Surely if people loved DII so much theyd still be playing it (And quite a few are, they will surely benefit most from this).

For me I never played DII so it will be good to see what the rage was, but prettier!
