Is it just me or did the graphic card prices increase quite a bit in the last day or 2?
Nvidia and AMD prices are both being inflated by crypto currency miners buying up the stock.
Like the guy that just ordered $86,000 worth of cards in the bitcoin thread.
Haha yeah. Miners are ruining all.
Do you have a link for that? That's insane.
Jumped on a GTX 1080 during the ebay 20% off sale couple weeks ago $810 down to $640ish. Cant complain with that.
Yeah miners are ruining it all - 1080Ti's were on ebay for under $900, snapped up by miners.
I found some stock yesterday of Ti's for $950, there were still some left when I checked last night.
even pccasegear added *4 per household* note to almost all the 1080Ti models....
Give it a few months until the whole thing falls in a heap and becomes worthless, then buy up the cheap cards that the miners will have to flog off.
Then its time to sift through the abused GPU's on OCAU lol.
The Nvidia cards are actually undeclocked to mine with, they won't be a bad buy at all.
There'll be many people watching hoping to snap up discounted, nearly new GPU's.
I imagine being so new most people won't want to lose much on their purchases though.
I'll be honest, I have 11 1080TIs + about 20 other Radeon cards.
I'm selling the Radeon Systems while they are worth about double what I paid for them, then I'm paying a thousand or so dollars to trade up to a 1080TI system, that can mine more algo's than the Radeons have and are more efficient.
They also offer a tax deduction for me.
When I sell them, even if its in 2 or 3 months, it will probably be around 50 to 60 percent of RRP.
A great example mate
So, you'd be looking at a card with 20 months of warranty for peanuts.
ill give you my 1070 for one
haha I already have three!
The 1070 is actually probably the best Nvidia card for mining, but no point paying over 500 - 550 for one, once they are 600 - 700 the 1080ti makes sense.
haha fair enough
1070 is all i needed for 2k gaming anyways i can afford a 34" Ultrawide lol
i'm pretty sure people said that a year or two ago when bit coins started, now look at it. i wish i hadn't borked at the idea back then
