Thought this might be help full for others as PSU covers and RGB is all the rage nowadays.

As with most PSU covers they start life and a bent piece of perspex.

Some start clear.... and are painted black.

This time im using a 3mm satin black perspex as imo the finish looks more factory.

To get your bend you can use a hot air gun, mum's hair dryer! or the oven.

I'm using my trusty diy line bender... this always gives a cleaner bend.

For the example pics im using some scrap white.

12-24V is applied to the wire and it glows hot.

1-5 mins later depending on plex thickness its bending time.

With the bends outa the way the cover to be modded is this.

Ive stuck on the strip logo from the other side of the radiator.

I like the look it fits in well with the theme but it needs some bling to make it sing!

The blinging will be a back light surround for the strip.

Cut a strip of 6mm plex slightly over sized.

Add some take and mark out the shape leaving 5-6mm for beveled edges.

Then over to the router. If the router is not an option you can just wetsand for a frost look.

    The the edging

The routed edge will help catch the light

The problem is.... the strip logo allows the light to bleed thru.

So some block out tape is applied... you can also paint black or use alloy tape.

    No more light bleed.

Next is to cut a hole in the cover where the strip will sit.

The clear back and be glued into place.

D'sided tape applied to the strip logo and stuck on.

The LED strip can placed and stuck down with tape.

But the result looks like CRAP...

It needed to be diffused and heres how.

A chunky 10-12mm bit of clear plex is saw or router cut. Sanding will also work but not as good.

    Leave 2 sides clear

The clear sides is where the LED strip goes.

The ruff cut side will be the new more even light source

Im using some shiny alloy tape to seal it all up... but you can paint the back side white and seal with any stick type tape.

    New even light source

To attach to psu cover ive used some scrap plex but hot glue will work just as good.

Im connecting this direct to the MB rgb header then later sync with gpu etc

    And some fun shots...

Great work, nice mod. I would have even been happy with just the psu cover and no lights.
