Here is my bucket list, some of them are quite specific, and some not so specific. I'm 23yo and from Bendigo, Vic. I'm moving to the UK in July for up to 24 months so hope to tick a few things that are relatively close by off my list while I'm based there.

I'd love to see other peoples lists/goals too! Feel free to share!

Maybe if anyone has some similar goals we can share ideas on how to achieve them

    • See Pokhara Nepal (Phew Lake)
    • Do an African safari
Spend a week on a yacht in the Adriatic Sea - 2013
    • Volunteer in Africa

Solid list! I'm ticking off Oktoberfest, skydiving over the alps and (hopefully) seeing the northern lights this year. I find I'm adding to mine pretty frequently, usually from reading travel blogs or seeing photos of amazing places.

Do you mind if I ask what company you used to trek to the Everest base camp?

Haha yeah obviously not the original wonders :p - not unless I add a timemachine to my list which also may be a bit hard:

I'm referring to the following list
    http://www.iguides.org/articles/articles/72/1/The-Eight-Wonders-of-the-World/Page1.html

There's loads of different wonders generated, but those ones catch my eye.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New7Wonders_of_the_World

The 'new' 7 wonders :D even though there is 8 lol!

I have seen 3 of those, Almost saw the Pyramids but had to change our trip :(

Have seen the Great wall, Colosseum and Macchu Picchu

Anyway back to the threads point, I don't particularly have a bucket list. There are places i've always wanted to go and have seen most of them now Including -

    Seen
    Alaska
    Panama Canal
    Northern Lights
    Iceland
    Macchu Picchu
    Great Wall
    Dubai
    Western Europe
    New York(lived for 3 years)

    Still to see
    Cambodia/Angkor Wat
    Vietnam/Halong Bay
    Japan

I used Intrepid, the whole trek went flawlessly and I would have no hesitation in recommending them again

Cambodia and Angkor Wat are the best places ive ever been, Ive now been back 6 times and planning another trip this xmas, its a beautiful place, amazing people and some spectacular sights , and the best part is that its still not polluted by tourism

Swathes of Siem Reap have become a haven for the "I'm so cool because I'm getting shitfaced in Asia" gap year crowd.

The first time I went to Beng Melea there were two other people there. This time (January) it was very much ON the tourist trail, even Preah Vihear is on the radar. Koh Ker appears to still defeat them though.

As for my own bucket list, I could probably make it long enough to crash the OCAU server. If I leave off the things I've done so it doesn't become a brag list, in no particular order and not including every little individual thing I'd like to do:

Machi Picchu (as part of a South American trip)
    Assorted Aztec temples
    Easter Island
    Antarctica
Russia (Я выучил русский язык в ожидании!)
More time in Paris, and more France
    Smithsonian & Yellowstone
Drive from one end of Italy to the other (or failing that, Amalfi Coast)
    Dalmation Coast
    Scandanavia
    Ngorongoro
    Morocco
India (due to be ticked off in 2015)
    Scotland
    Canadian Rockies

Agreed, Beng Malea has developed and now has stalls and small eateries at the entrance which it didnt have a few years back but on the whole its still nowhere near as bad as say Bangkok or Phuket etc , Preah Kahn etc are also becoming more crowded each year but there are still lots of places as you mentioned which havent been discovered by the masses as yet, its a double edged sword, tourism boosts the economy like nothing else can but also changes the place equally, I hope it doesnt become another Bali :(

We did a dirtbike tour from Siem Reap town to Beng Melea and Preah Vihear in early Feb and there was nobody at either site. It was really refreshing after spending a full 2 days at Angkor Wat leading up to the dirtbike tour.

Curious - where have you been in France so far? I have only been to Paris and, while I'm glad I went there, I have no desire to go back. I will be going to Nice, Lyon & Strasbourg later on in this year though - hopefully I have a nicer experience with the people there.
