Well it sounds like we are getting another Doom series:

Hopefully it is as good a throwback to the original as Doom 4.

My hype level went mental when this got announced. My personal favourite from E3 so far.

Gameplay trailer coming at Quakecon on August 10

    Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..........................damn.

Here's hoping lightning can strike twice because Doom 2016 was phenomenal. Name is weird though, considering the scenery I'm disappointed it wasn't called Hell on Earth.

So this is Doom on earth correct?

If they were savvy with the teaser, they would have had a desecrated Statue of Liberty, ala Planet of the Apes.

    "You maniacs!
Damn you! Doom you all to hell!"

Rewatched many many times. Looks like Pain Elemental, ArchVile and some kind of twin-bladed cyberdemon at the end? Along with arachnotrons at the start. So hyped!

    Omg yes....
At a guess this is the new Doom2. With the building it looks like its set on earth.

As someone who still remembers the original "Doom" to "Doom II: Hell on Earth" transition, this is pretty cool. Very nostalgic.

    awesome

let's hope the MP is better than the last one... IMHO they need the singleplayer feel in the MP, weapons did too little dmg in multiplayer

Looks very close to the cancelled Doom alpha cgi artwork and setting (on earth) leaked 3 years ago.

Sounds like they've got Mick Gordon back on board as noise-man, that's all I need to hear. Though I probably won't play the game - only the soundtrack.

I loved it because it was exactly what it needed to be. It was never absolute perfection but it filled the ego-shooter void succinctly. It felt just right (felt fast, fluid and had tight controls) and it was enough for me to give it a couple of play throughs which is a good game as far as I'm concerned.

If this new one carries on the tradition of the first then I will also be happy. Wolftenstein let you be a nazi killing badass, Doom lets be a deamonic slaying jugganaught and they both feel just right.

That's exactly what Doom is, is meant to be, and always has been. And I hope always will be. Sometimes you just want to go on a mindless rampage (ala Serious Sam)
If you want a story line, go elsewhere.

Na didn't want a story, but the whole enter a room, the exits lock until all monsters died got a little tedious, I am sure there is ways they can make it more varied. I preferred the levels in Hell they were better.

I get ya, an attempt at blocking speed runs (why?), just lazy programming, or maybe forcing you to play the level?

To be honest, that didn't bother me, the levels were obviously constructed as puzzles, although to a higher degree than the find blue key find yellow key that D1/D2 did.

It was just a way they could contain you and bombard you with enemies, I guess they could just be more creative with it. I did like the level design though. One thing that annoys me, I didn't find ONE of the old doom levels and I explored a bit.. obviously not enough.. found plenty of secret rooms with epic guns/armour though.
