    Hi everyone,

Rather than create a new thread every time I wish to share photos, I'm going to keep wedding/lifestyle related photos everything in this thread. Make it more centralised and easier to follow. The idea is that I throw up random photos as I edit from time-to-time. Then also upload the finished product as an entire set when they're done. Well that's the plan anyway.

Feel free to comment as the thread is updated. Or not. Whatevs.

    Cheers,
    Dan (aka douche)

sticky, subd, copy pastad, shortcut link to desktop, Favorited, save to history...wait what.

I was thinking of doing the same for all my photos, then I remembered I have flickr for that.

Whoops. Got sidetracked by a client email.

Anyhoos, to kick-off, a single frame from a wedding almost a month ago.

    Good idea. I can subscribe.

I think you must have a good "way" with people. All of your photos seem to have the people looking natural and happy.

    Second shooting for Nicole Pearce.

Interesting day to learn what shutter speed to use for harsh sunlight. Now i know. Manual mode rocks. Not so when you change the angles and the light is totally different. Ah, the joys of working with natural light.

I was just about to post in one of your threads the other day that you are probably my favourite photographer on here (no offense to the other brilliant togs here). I guess that means I should subscribe.

for some reason to me, the right side looks totally pixelated? was this intentional?

First time I cant tell from blur, off focus or pixelation :D.

I received an email on Friday morning asking for my availability for a date in two weeks time. It seems as though the couple had issues with their booked photographer (no, didn't ask who it was) and had seen my work from a beloved! session I had with their friends. I met them that very night and offered a last minute pre-wedding on the Sunday night.

Shoot went well. They warmed up. Got the best photos possible from the situation. Spent the next 6 hours editing, putting everything else on hold. Sent the couple the edits and a link to their slideshow.

Still no confirmation of booking. No gushing of emotion in reaction to the slideshow. Sent them a rather blunt email last night. They replied back indicating that I was hired. Nothing is confirmed until I have my contract signed and retainer paid.

A 10x10" flush style guestbook delivered in 7 business days? Sure.

Welcome to my day job. Like any other job, you take the good with the bad.

    Admin hat on....

Just my humble opinion but you're pushing the boundary on advertising with this thread.

Nice idea to keep it all together if it becomes and informational thread with each image accompanied with shooting techniques to help others but I'm not seeing that at this stage.

I don't think anyone would like to see The Gallery abused to the point where every pro or semi-pro has their own thread advertising their business.

    bazz.

Agreed (to which I have replied via PM).

Pretty blunt (more business tone than the usual personal tone I write with). Had someone else look over it before I hit 'send' to make sure I wasn't er .. screwing myself over :D

    Hey douche,

Could you do a writeup on the PP you use for photos like these:

I am extremely keen to achieve what you do with PP.

    Let us know. Thanks :)

It's great of Dan to offer insights into his journey but try to keep in mind that there are some things he may not want to share as they could be considered unique to his "style".

This forum has always been about sharing information but I think everyone needs to understand that when choosing to ask a question.

Indeed Bazz and certainly comes back to the poster itself. When you think of what is offered already (in terms of just shooting locations alone ;))
