Quite true. It appears to be their business model.
Meh, if you don't want your expectations to be let down then dont read the previews. Simple innit?
You speak truth.... but it's like watching a car crash.
Sex and violence...Trailer is out! Looks gory great!
I have to say that a PC-only RPG sounds really good. One thing that's irritated me about recent RPGs is how they feel like cheap console ports with all of the limited interface functionality that comes with it.
Except they changed their mind about the PC-only bit, and it's coming out on Xbox and PS as well
well after seeing that trailer I'm not sure what to think are they going to go all action movie and forget the plot - i hope not, because plot should drive a game not cheap thrills - especially an RPG.
I'm pretty sure it uses a dynamic plot, kind of like mass effect.
Do they have to make it freakin party based. IT'S A RPG COME ON. I just want to solo it
most of the best RPGs ever are party based. I like parties.
i prefer solo myself too, party is ok.
It looks promising. Can't wait
Cool. I was just playing BG2 earlier today.
Is this based on the D&D ruleset?
I hope they keep as much speech as they can in it, it really helps a game along.
i dunno, speech in an RPG reminds me of what they did with age of conan. 15gb and occasional voiceover content.
anything more recent in content, or is ME2 getting the lions share of updates
No, since its Bioware's own IP they're making their own ruleset. I can't wait for this game to be released, it's just too bad that cRPGs are becoming such a niche market nowadays.
New trailer, and along with it a release date: 20 October.
Expanding on that
Sorry PC purists, unlike before when it was thought to be PC release first and then ported to console, this is a multiplatform release and therefore probably a console port.
Initially it was going to be released on PC half a year before console versions, but they brought the release back to the consoles date, reason being they thought it needed more polish. Besides it's stated numerous times by the devs that DA is first and foremost a PC game.
So DA is now getting pushed back to November 3rd/6th for PC/Xbox, which most likely means an even further pushed back date for Australia. Not happy about this, but what's a few weeks when you've been waiting for a game for years.
The thread started in 2006. Was it announced back then as well?
