I'm actually genuinely curious about this because I like to play female characters in RPG's (let's avoid the conversation as to why for now) and find that the male love interests generally seem to be... well... awful. The worst example so far was in Star Wars the Old Republic MMO with the Jedi Knight companion, Doc. He seemed like such a caricature of what a male would think a female would like and he just would not take no for an answer. I honestly would've spaced him if I could. So I'm really curious to know, from a woman's perspective, whether or not RPG love interests are ever more than hopeless attempts by man-boy-geek programmers to approximate what they, in their wet-dream fantasies, think that a woman actually wants. From a guy's perspective, a lot of the love interests for male characters are overtly sexualised to the point of ridiculousness. Miranda from ME2 and Isabela from DA2 are good examples. I'm sure it's great for teenage boys but I find it offputting. They remind me more of porn stars than girlfriends.
