Just saw this, jack frags has a breakdown of his character too.

The shield and turret seem like a throw back to the 2142 support class.

What did you expect? Its a hybrid of bf5 and warzone, as long as they get the ttk right and tanks/planes arent op, should be a bit of fun

Battlefield has had a Vehicle Boost sprint in the game since Battlefield 2 lol. Tanks have had it since BF3.

The look of the map/terrain and destruction actually remind me a lot of the first crysis, of which I terribly miss the multiplayer... so that footage has made me pretty excited

Also second that tank on coke, mental driver and way fast

I dont like how the specialist can teleport in cover and a turret.. did they invent magic in the 2040s?

I get it for gameplay reasons but flares still fooling missiles in 2042?? I highly doubt that.. would be using insane AI that knows the diff between a flare and a plane.

If there was any reality no-one would be doing dogfights or hovering over the battlefield in an F-35. They'd be fighting from 160 km away using radar guided missiles. Hopefully they will stick to a max of two planes per team and don't nerf AA into uselessness. The biggest problem Battlefield games have is allowing planes to go 100-0 because no-one on the ground can shoot them down. Looking forward to seeing the modular APC, it can go full AA if you spec it that way.

There might be some new footage or teasers at Gamescom on the xbox show I think that should be early morning Wednesday in Australian time.

unless you're an engineer and sacrifice the good ground missile launchers for one of the anti air ones. then trying to shoot down planes but getting no thanks for it or actually have it make much of a difference

In bf4 it was pointless trying to take out jets with the infantry missile. The range was so short (about 150m in total when you take into account they have to fly up in the air) that every jet could just hit the ECM and get away long before you reloaded while still being able to bomb, rocket or strafe whatever they were shooting at. The pilot would have to be a dumbass and turn back around before the ecm/flare reloaded for you to hit.

Only the Mobile AA, and in very rare circumstances, the patrol boat (where taking AA was silly since it was more useful with anti-infantry cannons and the tv missile) could shoot down a jet from the ground. Helo's are a bit of a different story since they were slower and harder to move, you could semi-reliably make them withdraw after hitting.

There needs to be some decent AA options i think especially when the f-35s are hovering and acting like a helicopter gunship. To make sure planes largely stick to air to air or air to tank battles and don't farm infantry.

One other thing is i would like to see a bit more realistic gun reload times, seems a bit too quick in the beta. Part of the skill of infantry is timing your reloads using your bullets carefully when taking on more than 1 enemy. Imo bf5 got this right with the SAR rifles. Just because its the future doesn’t mean human speed has increased with things like aiming down the sights also.

In bf5 nobody can be bothered shooting down planes since they nerfed the fliga, it just becomes and annoyance between an air game and a ground game. Almost like the planes are playing plane simulator and you just randomly die occasionally by being bombed out by a plane, feels like they are not part of conquest half the time. Mind you the spotting markers make it way too easy for planes to spot infantry, they should be focused on tanks and air to air.

Another leak vid, this has some stinger action in it. Looks good, I estimate about double the range of BF4.

There's been some leaks suggestion an open beta will take place from the 4th to 11th of Sept.
