So far with update #2 I haven't noticed any proper balancing with weapons & no UI fixes. On the plus side I haven't seen a server with 127 hovercrafts yet

    No idea..

If they just copied BF4 but added movement and spotting/health/map/squad/building systems from BFV and made it 128 players with a few new guns/mechanisms and just polished it up. This thread would be half as active, we would be too busy having a ball.. I haven't seen a great deal of die hard BF fans happy with this game. No idea what made them go down this path but it wasn't anyone passionate about BF. Just money.

The world war 3 re-release especially as F2P is likely going to be a much better experience. $15 to get into closed beta which has started or F2P march 2022.

So they try to remake project reality, which is now its own stand alone game, SQUAD.

The complaints here remind me of BF2 on release.

Is that because it still has the same bugs?

I get the feeling DIce forget everything they learnt form the previous release and just start again. How else can you be in such a situation with their history and release such a broken mess?

This is a MP only shooter game, but you need a very recent CPU and a top tier GPU to get acceptable framerates of 120FPS on a high quality setting. A $2000+ GPU to play a $90 game??? Then you have the well known issue with assault rifles that were far worse that SMG's. The old model (premium) had issues of fractionalising the playerbase, this game is far worse and will only set worse cause of portal.

There is zero QC, the paying customers are the testers, and that new scam of paying extra for early access is laughable at best.

    No way.

Battlefield 2 had spaghetti code bugs for long periods but it was quite consistent, I was never bothered too much by the bugs, some of them were annoying like friendlies showing as enemies and some of the balance issues and things like nade spam on Karkand.

The issues in Battlefield 2042 are design decisions that make no sense.

Played some more last night with a couple of mates, more enjoyable than by yourself that is for sure.
Still a bit bummed about the CPU bottleneck, but turns out a Ryzen 5 3600 is the minimum required CPU for this game so should be expected. I could upgrade to a 5000 Series as they still work with my motherboard, not sure it is worth it for one game. I still have about 7 hours left on my 10 hour trial thing, will make a decision once that is up if I want to purchase or not, I can see potential (Unlike BFV which I just couldn't stand) but might be worth waiting a bit, I dunno

It's good to see its the same old same old.
Each patch brings in new bug/fps drops and it takes them years to work out.

Gotta hand it you all that are still going. You all keep going on the same merry-go-round and keep wondering how/why its going so bad.

I'm so happy I jumped off after BF1.

Goodluck, your all going need it.

Mwave has the game for $49 if anyone cares.

Yeah the patch doesn't seem to have changed much.

Pretty rude thing to say considering many people would say you were on the merry-go-round since after Battlefield 2.

You aren't on a high horse, as much as you would like to be.

Had a full game just then..played infantry only..managed 34 kills.. the hit reg seems worse on some maps than others..but maybe that's just me.

You must have played a different BF2 to me. I remember a patch that caused every game to crash that wasn't fixed for many many months.

Reading comments here and in other forums, it looks like 2042 still has all the problems of the previous BFs. Dodgy hit reg used to annoy the crap out of me in the previous releases, if it's still dodgy I'm out.

This is the worst BF launch in history. Especially recent history. Bf1/bfv weren't perfect but miles ahead of this.

How does 1 get a free trial?
I don't want to go spending $50 just to waste it.
Done that too many times in the past. LOL
    Is it worth it?

They have acknowledged the CPU bottlenecking is over the top and not right. Especially when lowering details does nothing. Is surely things you can scale down to help with CPU load.

Hopefully once they fix it up it will become more about what GPU you have not CPU.

Check the below.. Normally at 1440 nearly all CPUs are the same as you are bottlenecked by GPU, but this is huge differences.
