    Yeah that one.

I'm waiting for the next Nvidia driver which should be out in a few days, I've had to stay on quite an old set because of an unrelated to Battlefield issue that is supposedly fixed. I'm hoping that not only does it fix the unrelated issue for good but that the new drivers also help 2042 maintain stability.

And that's where you lost credibility, thinking EA execs are anywhere near in touch with gamers and don't make stupid decisions.

Hazard Zone looks like it was put together in like 3 months. It is absolutely lack lustre. Nothing substantial was needed by the devs to create it. Re-purpose maps, assets, weapons and specialists. It tanked so hard DICE stopped recording numbers for it after a week. It was clearly a last minute quick addition to try and capture some of that BR/Tarkov player base. That's why we didn't get any gameplay of it for a long time.

I meant that in the context of him getting so hyped his GF noticed when he didn't actually like the game, but somehow he didn't figure this out during the betademo week before launch and that it's DICE's fault this guy got over hyped and still bought the game.

Did he just not play the beta? Did he not listen to people reviewing/streaming the beta? If I hadn't had the cost of 2042 in my steam wallet (through gift cards presents & card sales) I'd have never bought 2042 because of it's beta (like I did BF4 and BF5, although I got BF4 when it stabilised years later), so what's this guys excuse?

2042 didn't even have a CDPR Cyberpunk style big chungus keanu marketing hype machine either. They just released a few trailers, one being throwbacks to old battlefield moments and the other being about portal, then did the beta.

The people who still bought the game after the beta have no-one to blame but themselves.

Maybe if only 500k people bought 2042 then EA would go "well fuck we can't keep releasing battlefield games with horrible bugs at launch any more". Instead it's launch sales were roughly in equal first place for the franchise, and EA doesn't give a shit about review bombs once they've got $250 million in first week sales.

It must be my spidey senses but I could tell from the first trailer this was going to be lack lustre. Really trying hard to not judge a book by its cover and wanting it to be good because BF but tornadoes is not what I really want from a BF game lol

I really hope EA & Dice realize that they cannot do live service ever again. Their reputation has taken a massive flogging after this nightmare, which makes the BF 5 launch look like a smooth release.

TBH they have one more roll at this and they must nail it. If it was up to me I'd refund everyone who purchased this and make it free to play, just to earn some goodwill back from their prospective customers.

Just be battlefield. It's that simple.

This is true, unfortunately (for developers and publishers) video game development costs have been increasing, we are not too sure what sort of returns EA was expecting with 2042 AND how much it cost to develop. EA hired Fawzi Mesmar as the lead designer of 2042 right off the back of leading Candy Crush to +$1 billion of takings in a year. EA suits obviously wanted 2042 to be a micro-transaction money machine and the suits were happy enough to change game mechanics at the expense of gameplay to make this happen.

    this... this x100

E.A also make billions off games like FIFA, even a $100 million dollar loss on a BF isn't going to hurt them at all. Now they can bring out BF classic and people will eat it up

PC in general is easy to hack, if there's demand there will be hackers there.

The only real way to avoid it are expensive servers for every instance that verify your every move, like MMO's etc.

They use EAC, even though its shit, its about as good as it gets for anti cheat. the problem is how much of the game is server sided or local, they do hardware bans which will help but of course there are spoofers and stuff as simple as raid zero which will bypass most of the hardware ban stuff. Once / If they decide to fully implement Cerebus it will help a little more but cheat devs will always be 2 steps ahead of AC devs, so were pretty doomed.

I have issues where both my GPU and CPU sit between 60-80% utilisation,

This results in only 70-80FPS at 1440p. (playable but obviously I would like more)

I have looked at multiple fixes online but none seem to fix it,

this is only in BF2042, (BF5, BF1, BF4, SWBF2 all work fine with GPU near 100% and CPU between 50-80%)

    Ryzen 3600
    RTX3070
    16GB 3200 flare X cL14

The game likely isn't using all your CPU Cores, which likely means your CPU isn't fast enough for the cores that are being used.

Pulling 70-80FPS on that CPU is as good as youre gunna get at 1440p.

It VERY cpu heavy. If you chuck this into the console in game: PerfOverlay.DrawFps 1
You will see that the CPU is constantly sitting in red.

I just got a 5800X yesterday - so when I can find a match Ill see how much difference there is
