Most modern games stream everything in, bigger maps and players generally mean more work for the servers, which is strange because they seemed to struggle with 64 players. Maybe we'll get further reduced tick rate and further removal of physics events and destructible environments so the servers can handle it.

Battlefield 3 was the best for destructible environments, the beta was even better as the ground was destructible.

probably depends on the way they do the game in terms of how the environments react
BF3 was a blast and a half, i still go back to it every now and then but there is only ever like 4 or 5 aussie servers with players in them.

Been playing warzone team deathmatch lately and it gives me some of that battlefield feel I've been missing from my BF3 days...

    Keen for this

It's long since time to bump up the player count to 40 to 50 players per side.

Hopefully jets don't ruin the game again.

Just watching the BF3/4 footage from JackFrags video in OP has me excited, forgot how damn good it is and how many 'only in battlefield' moments there can be.

    Not keeping my hopes up.
Loved BC2 and BF3/4 but BF1/5 was Meh

The weapons and unlocks (or lack of) in bf1/5 didn't interest me at all.

bf2 unlock system and amount of weapons was perfect, they need to focus on gameplay and not 50,000,000 skins for 50,000,000 guns which are a rehash of every other gun in its class

later battlefield games pissed me off due to the end of every round sounding like a slot machine.

Wake Island Battlefield 2 was the perfect example of a real battlefield game.

You pick your specialised class, join your squad and start doing your objectives, not just killing randomly.

For example one squad would spawn in and run for the far spawn points to defend against boats coming in, while another squad might defend the very important airstrip, while another squad might get into sniper positions, while another might start defending the base against the USA helicopters/jets.

I also loved the special forces class, I would sneak in and destroy artillery, UAV etc, you could feel like you were making a huge difference for your team. On the USA side you would destroy the bridge so that you can more easily hold your first spawn point on the island.

Having said that, Battlefield 2 was not perfect, but a lot of the potential fixes were not that hard to implement, for example a solution to stop jets camping the USA aircraft carrier.

I remember the Battlefield 3 version was completely ruined of all gameplay for so many reasons.

nah the 1942 version was more fun for one reason - the ability to move the carrier. this made me very happy.

Oh it going to have huge maps with 128 players !!!

....end up with Max 64 again.

Oh we have resurrected an old BF2 map you should see it.

.......Pay for map pack, no one else on server, map is pure ass.

    Check out new skins.

    ..........Credit card to look different.

    Hackers are not a problem.

......Every server has at least one hax and he/she jumps around servers so not to get caught.

I remember when COD wasn't as good as Battlefield. Those were the days.

This is my predication too. The resurrected map will end up being Metro and all the servers will be empty except Metro 24/7 and so you join that and get nade spammed to death multiple times.

They do nothing about hackers and the patching to still a fucking mess after release. Another hard pass for me.
