Ill try remember this if I ever see you buy it :p

Def didnt do enough about hackers for BF1/BFV though. I find CoD more infuriating with unfixed bugs whilst they pump out paid cosmetics etc.

I am hoping theyve learnt some big lessons from BFV as it got some things really right around no 3d spotting and other things. This time dont go all social justice warrior and include lesbian half robot things with bionic legs or tank with teddy bears on them and just give us BF3/BF4 on a bigger scale with next gen visuals and 128+ players.

Bought bf3-bf1 but didn't get the MOD game of hardline. Looked at the forums to see if the same shit would happen with bf5 and it did. After release they always seem to put the B team in to do the shit patching.

Other games seem to try and get rid of hackers but EA just seems to shrug at it.

Hope we get a good product, BUT I will not be pre ordering this time, I will wait and get it at half price a week after it is released like what happened with bf5.

That's mainly cause of BFVs atrocious trailer and historically inaccurate customisations and poorly handled PR about it all.

I'd say they would have learnt a lesson there.

I was hoping for BF:BC3, and the sad thing is that COD:MW is probably the closest thing that I will be getting.

EA will have to blow me out of the water to win me back over - and that is saying a lot from me.

this post encapsulates so much of what is wrong with gaming today.

    "atrocious trailer"

    "historically inaccurate customisations"

    "poorly handled PR"

    "learnt a lesson"

go back 15-20 years and not one single item on that list is a thing anyone gives a shit about in a game.

For a frame of reference, here's BF1942's gameplay trailer - and everyone played and loved the shit out of this game, and many of us played it on PC's that ran it like shit, it was buggy as fuck but it was awesome, so awesome.

I'm confused, what was wrong with BF1942's trailer? It looks awesome and I'd rather play that then modern Battlefield games. (With 64 players with the desert combat mod in a LAN Cafe if possible!)

Times change mate, youtube wasnt out till 3 years later. Trailers werent as big of a thing back then especially when it takes 30 mins to download the thing on dialup.

But yes games have changed for the worst in alot of aspects, especially with public company publishers and greedy stakeholders.

Not to mention BF1942 was ground breaking, BFV was no real step up technically from BF1. I do miss those days, the Wake demo blew my mind!

Well it didnt have stuff like this.. soldiers looked genuine.

says you i used to download and watch trailers, hell in 2002 I had Optus cable.

times HAVE changed which is part of my point - in this case for the worse.

People used to be wowed by and play games for what they were now everyone has nothing better to do other than analyse everything to the nth degree and forget to have any fun.

imagine being 14 and getting your trailers from a PCgamer magazine cd you had to beg your mother to buy while in the super market.

i'm glad they're back to the modern bit, i think they dabbled in the WWI and WWII and it didn't pan out as well as they, or we hoped.
