Alternatively you could have infinite monkeys on infinite laptops (why typewriters? Monkeys couldn't deal with a a jam, lets modernise this bitch), typing for 1 year. If you're dealing with infinite you may as well get it done in the least amount of time :D

An app that, given a database specification, will analyse it, and then construct a database, and all related documents to go along with it :D.

An app that will, given the details of a piece of software, will then outsource it, an develop the program :D

An app that replaces the phone keypad with the old fashoned dial. Its a must have for the elderly and those not in a rush to dial, or just for those who hate an adress book.

Now that these fancy phones have motion sensing, we could upgrade this app so that you can move the whole phone in an arc to dial.

An app that when installed (or launched if this causes problems) reports one of the following 'silly' error messages (found at one point or another on windows):

Some (from:http://it.toolbox.com/blogs/tech-sport/whats-your-favorite-stupid-error-message-7334 ) - many more around the web.

    Code:
    [LIST=1]
[*]Keyboard not found. Hit F1 to continue.
[*]Windows has found an unknown device and is installing a driver for it.

[*]Your system shell has changed. The Compaq software will work with your new shell, but the new shell will not work with your Compaq software. Do you wish to keep your Compaq software working? Click yes if you are unsure.

    [*]An Internet error occurred.

    [*]Printer on fire.

[*]The procedure failed with the following error: The command completed successfully.

[*]Your mouse is not working, please click here to acknowledge.

[*]Cannot delete tmp150_3.tmp: There is not enough free disk space. Delete one or more files to free disk space, and then try again.

[*]You need to supply a fax number in order for your request not to receive fax notifications to be processed.
    [/LIST]
Also put in a change to display a BSOD on any time of opening the application (or general use). All just cosmetic things though, don't want peoples devices actually locking up :p

An "alarm" app that instead of ringing an alarm, turns the phone off.
-- good for when you need a sleep in, but have an alarm-setting OCD.

Here is the app of the future, the app that the movies missed out on.

The zombie escape route app. "The Serious App"

Take a photo of the blueprints of the building you are in (obviously in the future you will carry this information as the zombies will be rampant) and the app will work it's wonders.

The app will map out the escape routes, and or best spots to create that little counter-attack with that battleaxe you've been carrying.

    Here's an example.

This is the serious app, the app that may one day save your life.
Be serious. Be alive. Be App-Saved

An app. that keeps a record of numbers related to what you did with this app.

    For example:

*A blank screen opens up upon start-up. BLACK numbers will appear in random locations on the screen.
    -
*Counts how many times you've opened the app.
*Counts how long you've had the app. since when it was first installed. (In seconds)
*Any sort of action permitted for that particular console the app. is running on will have a number appearing. (eg. if you tapped the screen twice, a number "2" will appear in a random location on the screen. If you shake the device twice, another "2" will appear in a random location on the screen and so on.)
*All numbers can possibly overlap with each other.
*When the screen is TOTALLY filled (R:0, G:0, B:0), screen resets itself and everything starts again.
*All numbers are saved from the data prior to each time the app. exits.

YOU MAY THINK THIS APP IS USELESS BUT THINK AGAIN! Or is it...?

So you bought a rubiks cube huh, do you know if can you solve it? Didn't think so.

Do you come to work and feel ashamed when you see your unsolved rubiks cube on your desk and hurl it at the wall in frustration? If you had used our new app RubikSolver, your wife wouldn't have left you.

Using a fancy algorithm our top scientists developed, the app goes through all squillion combinations and possibilities to see if the cube can be solved.

Take a photo of all 6 sides of the cube, and the app will tell you that the cube can be solved!!!

Take it to parties. Take it to your bosses wedding. Impress all your friends. Show them that you know that the cube you are holding CAN BE SOLVED!

Ive always wanted an app which tells you how many apps you have, and then gives you a score on it.

Much along the lines of APP / installed_size = app_score

That way the more useless small apps you have the better score you have. You would learn to balance app size and uselessness, and continure to brag about your app score to mates. You could turn it into a game. Even better with an online rank system / score board with mates or something.

The app wouldnt "do" anything, other than make you want to install more apps.
