G'day all, not sure if this is the right sub but let's see. I'm in the market for some electric gate motors to automate our front swing gates. I've done some calling and research and it seems that the articulated arm is the better potential option as my gates need to open a little past 90 degrees.

My concern with eBay is that it's cheap Chinese crap howerer calling around it seems no one will give me a warranty past 12 months anyway. Anyone done this recently and have any recommendations here? Cheers!

How far past 90 you need to go?
How heavy and long is the gate
FAAC units are good. I. Have installed a good few of them and ditec were ok also
I installed them for a year. Low voltage motors simple and reliable
You can generally get a bit more than 90 from linear operators. Just play with your geometry.
Make sure you fix it off well also, bad geometry and the motor will tear itself off the gate. Or try and rip the hinges off
