I wonder if NSW and WA test papers are the same?

I didnt "ace" the capstone as I work in a different electrical sector (distribution) - i did get above average and probably scored higher than most everyday sparkies.

Of the 60 odd from my workforce that sit the capstone every June the most that has ever failed was 3. Usually 1 or 2 fail and they are generally not kept on after there apprenticeship contract expires - they are deadshits.

I have past NSW capstone papers here somewhere in PDF.

I need some other books if anyone can help

Electrical trade Principles 2nd edition by Hampson?
    Electrotechnology Practice - Hampson
Electrical Wiring Practice - Volumes 1&2 6th edition - Pethebridge

Did any of you go onto the website
    http://www.pearson.com.au/wpsbridge/hampson/default.asp

to revise all you've learnt before doing the Capstone Test?
If a get a second hand book do you think the access code would be transferable?:Paranoid:

im yet to use the code. if you the kind of person that can apply yourself for atleast a few minutes of class each day, you will probably find the "extra content" fairly unnecessary.

The books are quite good as a resource, many people i know still have their books from when they were an apprentice. Obviously i cant comment on your financial situation, but they really aren't that expensive. At least get Electrical Trade Principals, the Electrotechnology book ive barely touched till now.

For capstone them texts are irrelevant. Capstone for me (nsw) was AS3000 and 3008. No text book shit.

Learn that shit and all is good. Ohms law is ohms law.

Thanks, Managed to get Electrical Trade Principles and Electrotechnology Practice second hand with workable codes.

I've done my trade in South Africa years ago and want to do the Capstone in Oz so I can work as an electrician. Therefore I need to revise all I've learnt and learn the ozzie way of doing things.

If anyone has the other books they want to get rid of that'll be great.

As mentioned earlier, you really need to get your hands on AS 3000 and 3008.

Hopefully if you are doing any hazardous areas work you have had the relevant training beforehand, not just reading the standards..

To get your contractor license do you have to do any additional tests, requiring the standards?
As far as I know in NSW you just pay a heap more money to get the contractor license over the standard. I'm cheap i just got the supervisors $180 one for 3 years.
