Yes, ive been doing some medium combat zones at the current CG, bit of fun in my Vulture. Even in solo i will go into a medium level one and find dangerous and elite level enemies (im mostly harmless). I assumed that your rank scaled your enemies, unless the CG's or combat zones are excluded from that.

Community Goal events (CGs) and Galnet lore updates went awol for about 18 months or so, it's good to see them back and popular again with the playerbase for focused events on the map, a good way to run in to other players in pve guild/group or open pvp modes, deploy or utilise fleet carriers for services and taxi rides or even just local MMO chat.

The one annoying thing about the carriers though at the CG is the sheer amount of them you have to scroll though to find what your looking for in system to target!

I cancel the carriers out for this CG - in your left nav panel you select everything but carriers in the filter tab.
Though when in the station sometimes you can't see/select the CZs until you exit the station.

So much fun seeing other commanders and wondering if they'll gang up on you if they're on the other factions side - had to run away last night as they had some deadly weapons.

Nav panel filters are your friend, quick to edit on the fly to only show what you need.

I've said this before, but the engineers pretty much destroyed a large chunk of what was fun about the game, and I'd certainly never bother starting form scratch again and go through the engineers grind.

If I ever get my PC back, and get it running again, I'll be playing.

Running around a metal planet today in the SRV for the first time in ages was actually a bit of fun. Though, im not looking forward to the very rare mats, emissions and stuff you need to farm for.

Engineering changes were made a while back to make things less grindy:
They removed the RNG positive/negative stuff from crafting a while back, i.e maxed upgrades have ceiling limits now - so no more crazy stats from lucky RNG.
Also, you can pin blueprints when visiting unlocked engineers and then continue to craft/upgrade modules remotely from any station (except for applying experimental effects).

They also added new unlockable Human and Alien Tech you can add to your ship which you can unlock at Technology Brokers found at stations, by handing in farmed items from alien crash sites and ancient ruins, etc which may be guarded..

I mean in terms of the insane overpowering compared to a fully A-rated ship.

I know what you mean, it's just that with fixed stat ceilings now - max engineered is the new S-rated. ;)

What's the leaning curve like in this game? Is it a fucking cliff like Eve Online or a bit more simple? :)

Nah, Lots of good training tutorials, missions, and codex info in-game these days - really easy for new players to learn the ropes.
