They do sell desk mounts: https://virpil-controls.eu/vpc-desk-mount-s.html
Yes, but my desk has a lip on it that sucks
It is a MASSIVE 1m x 1.8m electric standing deks on 4 x LINAK actuators with a triple layer top - chipbaord, ply and then white corian.
Weights a ton and lifts 800kg, over engineered
edge finish towards seating position is like a shark nose finish
I have an office chair set up a bit like that. Though the arms fold up, which is very handy for getting the stick out of the way.
I also have a Playseat Challenge that I need to get around to setting up for my second rig.
where are your pedals?
What would a set of secondhand SLAW Viper be worth?
New V2 are close to $650 US
I use the VKB pedals, and I also have a set of Baur F3's. the VKB's are perfect for an office chair type setup - due to the up/down action. No pedals, though does not matter for ED.
The Baur F3's (Which are pretty much what the new Virpil pedals are) are awesome. So precise, and the pedals work nicely, but more of a forward/backward motion, not so office chair friendly.
If anyone is wondering how to earn ARX quickly.
Buy a 6A Fuel Scoop. Sell it. Buy the sold item back. Repeat this 40 times.
Go to menu for the ARX to be added to your account. Weekly cap is 400.
You can do it with smaller scoops but it takes longer. Doing it with a 6A Fuel Scoop gets you 10 Arx per transaction. So 40x should get you to the weekly cap.
This'll be patched quick.
Free > $5.
Shooting the station and dying is 10 ARX. So you can do that 40 times i guess.
Ah we can resume mining again. Collector limpets were crashing the game, but some hero figured out that you can sell the refinery and buy it back in outfitting, then the game wont crash when you send out your collector limpets.
New racing skins in the shop! New racing content on the way?
I just got Elite and Horizons and installed it haven't looked at it yet, just loaded up the main menu now.
Interested in getting into this as I have a VR headset no pedals for my Hotass X55 though may get some later depending.
What pedals would you recommend for the X55?
Could possibly use a mate to help me get started with things.
X55 has twist stick support for Z-axis/yaw, so pedals are not required.
As for bindings, there are a lot of them and much of it is personal choice or changes you may want to make for VR.
I would start here to get ideas: https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDangerous/comments/a6c2u9/x55x56_hotas_patch_33_keybindings/
Go through all the new in-game tutorial stuff, which just came out in the patch this week - it's a lot better than the old days.
Yea will start with the tutorials and see whats what first before jumping in.
Rumored "player base building" feature leaked from a while back might be true after all after a slip-up on the cosmetics store page...
Buildings could be fun. It's a big galaxy for pirates and explorers to hang out.
Any that you want - but the VKB T-rudders I have are fantastic for ED.
Just ordered a T.16000M HOTAS setup (free delivery at Scorptec!). Looking forward to getting back into exploration and making some coin to buy a few ships with (outfit a miner and try that, do some combat maybe).
Should serve you well, that includes the throttle, too, right?
Yep, really wanted the Thrustmaster one for the analogue stick on the throttle (for the attitude thrusters). Helped that it was on sale and free shipping and reports are better than the Logitech one.
The throttle and stick is really good, loving mine. The pedals in the kit are terrible but you can always use stick twist or buy better pedals. Probably for ED though they aren't required, not really a flight sim. Enjoy!
