That looks pretty good for 120+ MH/s for a 3090.
The hashrate may be good - but also go to look at MH/j (efficiency) which is where underclocking the core (and overclocking memory) comes in clutch - e.g. my 3070 runs at 0.50MH/j to sit at ~60 MH/s, it also helps with overall temperature as well.
Looks like recommended 3090 settings can get the power usage down to about 285W - so an extra 20W isn't going to improve its efficiency in a major way - but every little bit can help over an extended time period.
Yeah, I was thinking more from my perspective where you try to get as much hashrate for the temps you get. You're right, playing with the curves too will get a better power result.
Yeah underclocking my 3070's and they sit at 116-118w for 62.5mh so i expected the 3090 could get down to around the same sort of efficiency. ( thought they were essentially 2 3070~'s put together on the same card running sli like previous cards but i was wrong )
msOS restarts if a gpu crashes. I generally tune it back after that happens. Very stable. Mostly automated. If the rig stays offline I get a notification and can power cycle it remotely
How do you adjust the voltage of your cards? I'm msi afterburner to overclock, but the amp slider is locked and I am unable to adjust it
Is there anywhere to get mining gear (risers / multi pcie slot mobos) for a somewhat reasonable price at the moment?
I'm trying to consolidate my cards (6 over 3 machines) into one rig to conserve power but probably save more just leaving it as is due to the price of stuff at the moment...
All that kind of stuff is on crypto tax too, so not really. I was lucky that my 2nd hand super micro 'workstation/server' has 4x PCIe-16 slots, so I'm gonna run til I fill that up then probably not bother expanding (or sell 2 smaller to get 1 bigger or something)
Anyone has the same problem as me? Mining is addictive, I start out with 2 3060ti then 1 week later add another 3060ti then 3 weeks after that I bought 2 3070 lol. I said that is it but then 2 week after I added 2 amd oldies GPUs. A few days ago I bought myself a 3060 of the forum . I can't stop, I keep on lurking on facebook market and OCAU forums looking for bargain GPUs .
My Nvidia rig is full 6 GPUs 356MHs 820W, my Ax1200i has no connector left. I think I stop now, I wonder for how long.
I got my 4 gpus I’m done for a bit. Unless I somehow get one more gpu in my second rig. But will need a riser to do that and I don’t know how they work so. Either that or look at getting something more beefy than the rx580 in it. In saying that it goes alright.
I got a 4th 3070 and got a cheap 1660ti the other day, resetup my rigs and havent done anything with 4gb gpus, maybe tomorrow, need more psu power connectors, wasnt provided the whole lot when i bought the last combo, bit frustrating.
Maybe I won't add, but replace my 2 Rx 480 and 580. Those GPUs run hot and draw more power. They draw slightly more power then 2 3060ti for half the hash rate.
Only thing 580x had going for them was they were cheap, long term id rather buy a 3070 for 1200 then 2 x 580 for $8-900
I picked the RX up for cheap. After paying $856 for 3060tis and $1075 average for my 3070s. I don't few like fork out $1400+ for a 3070. You got luck to get 1 for $1200 at the moment. I pay $860 include post for 3060 lol. when 3060 instock at Ple I may buy another one and sell of my amd GPUs. I am very close to ROI to if I sold the Eth that I mined so far this year. But don't need the money so I keep.
I’m not addicted
I had an order for an EVGA 3060 for $749 but i cancelled it, shoulda bit the bullet back then ( ordered it the moment the drivers were released before the price rise )
I didn’t pay a cent for the rx580 my mate had it literally new in his cupboard. As he is using a rx570.
I am going to give him $300worth of crypto or just cash next time I see him. Even though he paid less I’m happy to not rip off a mate.
Boy did I f##k up not paying extra for the 8gig rx570!
I would sell that in a heartbeat ah well making money off crypto the traditional way all good.
Moved my ko and ko gaming cards into a proper mining rig rather then the htpc and gaming rig i have, god they are good.
62.2~mh @114w , for a long term rig they are bloody amazeballs , $150~ per quarter in power ( minus solar production which covers them from 7am-5pm~ )
I still has 1080ti in my main PC, the only reason I didnot mine with it because it is inefficient in main PC. Some time I am thinking taking if out and put it in my mining rig, but it is too much work. The card is in a water loop.
