Even thieves don't want Vista when it's a on bigger, chunkier, harder to sell laptop chassis

    I completely agree!

Or maybe we can give the benefit of the doubt that preloaded Vista, also means OEM, which means Serial Numbers of each OEM Laptop produced, which means it will be tracked to each store location. So when they plug it in and Activate the IP can be mapped back very easily. But I'm not sure if thieves armed with Bolt cutters are as intelligent.

My best bet would be that he just added it to the end of his "Location:" text box.

ROFL! Definitely a very good find

Although I'm sure they didn't check the items before pinching? Perhaps it was just coincidence, but I'd prefer to believe it was purely because Vista was preloaded on them :leet:

Have a look at my profile - it's part of my "Location" description - the text just wraps around in the column, thus it looks like another entry. :)

Just thought I'd mention it doesn't wrap around with a 1680x1050 widescreen.

Does this mean that a notebook running Vista is more secure than one running Linux?
