    yeah try a older save, I had it recently where it wouldn't load, it would just stay in the loading screen, so went back one save and it worked.

    all new, all new install, no saves.
    pre nuke from orbit, the game would not start, it would crash from clicking the executable or from the starter.
    and same after fresh install of everything.
    but will run fine in windowed mode.
    no windows updates, no driver updates, one day it'd work, next day nada.
    and from post nuke form orbit, all latest drivers (some from OEM pages)
    have been searching threads and forums and what not for a week now trying options.

    finally got around to trying older drivers. dec 2020, still will not run in full screen.
    game doesn't even start, just black screen and nothing.

    wait.. found random vid through ahttps://steamcommunity.com/app/377160/discussions/0/496880503083069601/?ctp=2
    with a link to a video, editing and adding a line to falloutprefs.ini

    bMaxamizeWindow=1 above
    bFull Screen=0
    bBorderless=0

    and it FREAKING WORKS AGAIN@()&*&%&^%$$#$# OMG BBQ!!!

    edit wellll that was short lived, it's "working" but at a lower red, at 1920x1080 crash, next lower res, works unless you alt tab then crash.. so weird.

    edit edit success, all files in the my docs folder (not saves) start game from the EXE in the install directory, quit game, open my docs, manually edit prefs.ini adding bMaxamizeWindow=1 and manually setting resolution via

    bMaximizeWindow=1
    bBorderless=1
    bFull Screen=0
    iSize H=1080
    iSize W=1920

    now works full screen once again. see how it goes from here.
    what a painful ride.

    Nice to see that your back up.

    I am currently doing a minutemen run using Sim Settlements 2 (chapter 1 & 2) and really liking the new settlement quest line in that. It has hand holding to location then almost no target info once you get inside so you actually have to search around to complete quests. I have also added a mod that changes the Nuka World good quest line (open season) to a full quest ark called Nuka World Plus https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/31164. This one can be paired with we are the minutemen https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/6443/ as well though I have not done that yet.

    I also highly recommend installing MW Palyer hit sounds and effects https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/52158 as it stops you being a bullet sponge and you react to getting hit. Makes sentry bots really scary as it's very hard to stay aimed on them when they are hitting you.

    Sim Settlements is great but tends to break unexpectly in the presence of other mods - definitely test test test before you commit to a playthrough (source - me who discovered the incompatibility 40 hours into a playthrough).

    Went through before I started and removed any mods I had that were known to cause issues (start me up was one) so I hope I am fine but I have had 1 hard crash to desktop on this run but apart from that it's been fine. During that process I found that TruBy9 caused problems on a new game so I had to start a new game with that disabled and once I could save for the first time I exited the game and re-enabled it then I was able to continue in ultra wide.
