Farcry 2 was ok, 3 was awesome!
I played 4 and it was good but also to familiar and got boring.

Didn’t bother with 5 so I’ll give this one a miss too.

they are trying to recapture the magic of BD but this just looks like a glorified DLC.

I'll probably play on sale because the price right now is totally wrong imo.

unlike it would seem everyone else here I have played all of them - although I did not finish Primal and 2 (no guns? NOPE, and 2 the not being able to capture and hold bases shit me). So it's fair to say I am a big fan and I even quite enjoyed 5. This one..... yeah wait for a sale.

3/4 were great, 5 sucked... the RPG lite stuff in this just seems stupid.. is 'epic' or whatever level animals that take over 50 bullets to kill.. and a double jump perk..:thumbdn:

same eh, i mean it's easy enough to grab for $49 but that's too much imo. Should be a DLC for 5 or a standalone $20-30 like BD was.

I honestly have nfi why they haven't already, they have plenty of IP and uplay is pretty much good enough to do it.

Exactly. It would make trying some games bearable.

Sounds like it, I finished 5, it was...ok..
but nothing special. I really enjoyed 3, but everything was kind of new, now the series is a bit repetitive.

Just wondering where they're going to set far cry 6? As they cant continue to use an apocalyptic word can they

As with others I'll wait till this is in the bargain bin before touching it

Far Cry 5 was pretty bad.

Considering you can jump in a helicopter, shoot everything, get a bunch of forced cut scenes and then finish the game, without actually doing anything....

Its just a reskin of the previous games with cutscenes.

The only way I found it playable was because it was so short, it was just a constant stream of cutscenes.

    what!?

There was a good game here, if you didn't enjoy it that's fine but there was a lot more to it than what you just said.

I did somewhat enjoy it, especially at the start and end.

But the entire middle was very repetitive, which led me to just jumping in the helicopter and breezing through it to the end. Its exactly what made me realise how pointless the game was.

You shoot a bunch of things, you get knocked out magically 1km in the sky, cutscene, you jump back in the helicopter, shoot some things, then you get knocked out magically 1km in the sky again, and another cutscene.

    Rinse and repeat.

There is no challenge, just a lot of inconvenience.

A lot of people didn't like Far Cry 5. Its a shame they don't seem interested in going back to what made them so great, like Far Cry 3.

Hard to be exact as its been a while.

    • 1000x better story
    • The antagonist actually made some sense.
    • The feeling of progression
    • There was a challenge
    • Being able to take a break from the campaign, do whatever you wanted and not get knocked out magically and forced to do more campaign
    • The random events were a lot less repetitive, the random cars driving around were repetitive after 10 minutes.
    • Hunting animals and getting unlocks was fun.
The story is the biggest one, the whole situation is unrealistic. Every 5 minutes you are reminded that there is an easy solution to everything (like escaping in a helicopter)

I'd have to play both again for a while to give you a better list.

I hated the dude bro main character in FC3 and wanted to kill all his mates, also Vaas was cool but died too early imo. The 5 story was not really that much worse, the ending was a little mediocre but it did setup the next game.

sounds like you have a big issue with the heli and used it as an i win? I didn't find either game that challenging myself. But that's kind of the norm for FPS games, you have some challenge to keep things just interesting enough but these aren't supposed to be hard as nails games.

I'm not pretending FC5 was amazing, but it wasn't that much worse or better than 3 and 4.

Be interested to hear from people playing ND this weekend and what entry it compares mostly to.

I would say Far Cry 5 is good enough if it was released instead of Far Cry 3, in 2012. At least it would have some new gameplay elements etc.

I guess it comes down to why you are playing Far Cry 5.

Far Cry 3 had the story, a reason to keep playing.

There is no part of Far Cry 5's story that has a reason to keep playing. At any moment in time you could just leave and tell the police, but you don't.

lol, look at you and your logic :) Maybe it's you that changed? Unpopular opinion, FC4 was better than both.
