Faulty or incompatible RAM?

    Yep, anything under warranty should be covered whoever has possession at the time (especially if they have the receipt)

    All good there, the seller agreed to help me RMA it via the retailer he bought from. ;) I am just not sure if G.Skill lifetime warranty will override the need being the original owner as the last time I RMAed with Teamgroup they told me although their products requires you to be the original owner and have valid proof of purchase but the memory has lifetime warranty and its fine if you lost your proof of purchase for it, the only issue with Team is after RMA the kit's serial is your RMA number making the kit warranty not transferable.

    This. Not ID theft as there is no intent to defraud in practical terms and no financial gain to the OP either way. Easy to explain change of address, hope they don't require a DOB!
