One i found while cleaning up. It's spare. I also have a glock + 1911 keyring which are VERY detailed, have a holster to clip into to hold keys somewhere. I'll take a pic of them and upload later.

I used to, but gave it all away a few years ago (to an appropriatel licenced friend, with whom i have since lost touch)

I left it behind at my mum's place when i moved back to Sydney in 1999, she brought it all over a couple of years later, just all thrown in a plastic bag and chucked in the car.

There were a few live rounds in there too, that army friends had given me (5.56 and a few live 50 cals :Paranoid:)

I also had a bunch of dummy 303 rounds in stripper clips, wish I had kept it now that I'm considering a 303, snap caps are ridiculously expensive!

I only ask coz I have a few weird and wonderful rounds. Plus a bunch I'm not gonna use, so if anyone wanted, I can send brass for them to display. Lots is weird stuff like ackley improved or wild cats I've made and used over the years.

Plus the usual "big" stuff like weatherbys, nitros, etc.

Found a photo my son took at the Armour and Artillery museum in Cairns.

This was the no 4 mark 1 I fired first. It was very comfortable and pleasant to shoot.

Following that was the 1903 Springfield in 30-06, which was a pig of a thing, the wrist was too small for me (I'm 2m tall with 27cm hand span), the recoil was uncomfortable and the sights were hard to see in the darkened shooting gallery. Unimpressed.

Third was a mosin nagant, which was better than the 1903 but extremely front heavy

They kick like a mule, I only fired one once and it was far worse than the Colombian carbine I owned which was also 30-06. I was glad to give it back to it's owner.

Here's the result, all on the same target.

The middle connected group were from the no 1 mark 4, the wayward ones were the 1903 (I couldn't see the front sight, have since started wearing glasses for short range stuff so I'd be interested in trying again)

Quite rough externally for 800, wanna hope the bore is good and not pitted. Nearly impossible to find an original barrel in top condition.

    So, a purely hypothetical question;

Suppose you were offered a WWII vintage .303 rifle, in reportedly 'beautiful' condition, for free, that is currently unregistered. Would you accept it and immediately take it in to be registered? Apparently it's a no questions asked deal due to the amnesty at the moment.

Depending on state.. hypothetically you do you. Reality, I won't offer advice on it because I don't know your states laws.

I will say protect yourself at all times.

Thanks for that, I certainly don't want to do anything that's outside the law.

A friend of mine is asking his brother the same hypthetical question. His brother owns a gun shop that is a participating dealer in the firearms amnesty.

Will be interesting to hear the input from him as well.

Yep, ask a dealer. They have a reasonable idea of amnesty turn ins. Don't ask cops, they know nothing.

Literary nothing. Also; they are very selective with advice, and it will be inline with their agenda.

In this hypothetical scenario wouldn't it be necessary to have a centre fire level of licence to register it though the gun shop may be able to store it for him. Can you own a firearm outside your licence class as long as its stored by an appropriate person and you can't access it?

I'm not across gun stuff at all, so that's interesting to know about the amnesty. It brings something to mind. Early 2000's a friend told me his grandmother (mid 70's at the time) casually admitted to having late grandfathers old .22 in the attic, unregistered! Someone in the family went up there to investigate but didn't see it, wondered if grandmother was mistaken. However she's adamant it's still up there somewhere. She's in her mid 90's now, and I can't help but think that if anyone in the family wants to keep their (great)grandfathers gun as an heirloom or something, they should probably know about the amnesty and do something soon. Mind you, I guess anyone who is licensed would already know about this. Regardless, it's an interesting scenario and makes me wonder how may other cases like this there are around Australia
