Tried to login into PSN and the 3.66 firmware is out (looks mandatory, if it asks to upgrade before going online) Apparently its just a system stability thing thats updated. weird that its asking me now to updatem 845pm EST...i been online all day no problems so far as well
Damnit, I just installed 3.65 http://au.playstation.com/ps3/support/system-software/detail/item384081/Update-features-(ver-3-66)/ Improvements to network services are always welcome though.
you should just be use to it now. no sooner do you upgrade the firmware does it ask to you upgrade again.
waiting on stories from people about how this firmware bricked their PS3, dead blu ray drives etc its almost inevitable for firmware updates i think more "improved network" firmwares should be more often i think, continuously trying to stop more PSN hacks etc
If you firmware update any hardware that can be updated (video cards, dvd drives, dvd players etc) there's always going to be some that fail. You don't hear about those ones because it's only a minority that update them. You hear about the PS3 ones because the majority update them but I would bet still have the same percentage of devices that fail the update.
