I love number 8, I like most of the others too, but number 8 makes me happy :)

i disagree with everyones choice of 8, I think theres too much out of focus, and its a little over exposed. Its been framed nicely, but I think you'd benefit from trying a shot like this on a tripod, so that you can slow it down a bit. I do really like 1 though. 7 is also interesting but I'd like to see it done without the highlights.

Are you serious its only your first month? Have you done photography before? I'm very impressed... Better than me even after 6 months at it (with a DSLR, and about 3-4 years before that with a super-zoom point-and-shoot)

Cheers for the positive comments guys! :)

I'd actually disagree too :p I really want the tree to be more in focus but the focal point was a bit too close. It's the sort of thing that was really difficult to make out on the camera's lcd screen :( I'm heading back there this weekend and will reshoot this one :) Not really sure which highlights you're referring to for 7. The only processing I did was to bump the saturation a tad and a little bit of contrast.

Yeah, I just bought this thing a month ago. Before that my last camera was a 3.2 megapixel piece of turd about 7-8 years ago. Used it for 2-3 months to take random pictures of my friends and bdays (the sort of stuff you'd use ur mobile phone camera for these days). Since then I haven't had any cameras, even my phones haven't had cameras.

Also tried these two shots today. I was just experimenting with stuff lying about my place.

This was done using a long exposure in low light to capture as many droplets in the spray as possible. Then an HDR image was generated using the RAW image to make the spray stand out from the background. Finally a little bit of added contrast.

Just an idea I had. I hope this marker ink comes off my shower wall :p
