FIRST TIME BIOS FLASH.. 1005 vs 1006?

    im goin to flash my bios for the first time ever... which should i go with? and where can i get some instruction... ive been warned this procedure can be fatal....

    i just read the asus FAQ on flashing... it mentions reposition jumpers and using flash or pflash... are these needed for p3v4x?

    has 1006.003 I would go straight to it . You do not say what cpu you have or whether you are having any issues. If the cpu is running ok I would use 1005 though why flash if everything OK.

    Re how to download aflash.exe program and bios file above . Unzip bios file and load both on a dos boot disk. reboot and follow instructions in

    BTW I would not use the asusupdate windows bios flash and plash is old utility for old nbs.

    i just installed a 850e chip.. the bios is having problems with it.. hence my need to flash... thanks for the info
