Sweet... always love a good fat burger.
had 5 Guys when i was in the US (that's what she said), but i found In 'n Out to better
sounds like the local brothels HAHAA
Sigh, brioche buns again
Quite honestly after having read that I'm not sure what's so different about them than any other burger place or even my local burger joint that I can customise my burger with anyways.
Problem is too that many of these are gone and now replaced by expensive "gourmet" burger places where it costs you $20 for lunch.
Whilst I agree that In'N'Out is better, Five Guys is easily the second best burger chain in the US. Had it many times when I was over there. I'm pumped!!
MR CHILLED you clearly haven't eaten Five Guys before. Shits over any other burger chain in Aus.
it's all hype these days
hype hype hype hype
and all that's left is mediocrity and dissapointment
sydney taco bell tastes nothing like US taco bell so i don't hold high hopes
We had lunch at 5 guys in London a couple yrs ago.. I wasn't expecting anything tbh, since I hadn't even heard of them, so wasn't "disappointing" , but was defiantly Ordinary.
At no point did I think, damn I wish this would come to AU.
I don't know how the U.K chains compare to US, or will compare to AU , but I wouldn't imagine much if any difference surely
How does it compare to say grilld or the likes?
my impression is it wasn't this sort of place - more like another Burger king/ maccas style place, crossed with a subway (customisation) , the patty in mine was bland with bits of solid fat in it , didn't even bother finishing it.
The Shakes is what everyone I was with were raving about / wanyed to try anyway for whatever reason.
This was the U.K though, maybe im wrong and US is infact different (in a good way) , and ours may be more like that, who knows?.. I mean the Burger king in Germany was fking atrocious compared to the ones here, so there's some hope right there.
Imho... im happy to try anything new... always willing ... but if their product is shit or too expensive I'd never go back ... if their product is as good as they say they should do ok.
I hear their burgers have strength and when you bite the fry, the fry bites back, dayum, dayum daaaayum
more choice is always good.
Is it though? for the most part the entrance of big chains just squashes small independents who were doing a better job anyway. Restaurant chains suck arse, from an industry perspective AND a customer perspective. A multinational chain? please.
I wonder if they will have beetroot...
Do we really need more American franchises, the quality of some of melbournes burgers are outstanding and I’d be shocked if these could come close
I do enjoy Five guys over the standard ones like maccas or hungry jacks. grilled doesn't really get me in as much.
You're right, never have. What so different about them and/or their food?
I had In'n'Out on my last 2 trips to the U.S. First time was awesome, 2nd time mediocre at best with hardly any sauce. The sauce is the key else it's just another burger.......
