currently I have the 2400mhz flare X at 2660mhz (rig in sig)

is it worth while upgrading to the 3200mhz part?
if yes, then is there any real world (Gaming) advantage between the CL16 and CL14 3200mhz Flare X parts?

    • F4-3200C16D-16GFX

    thoughts?

i just went from 16 to 32gb ram, small difference in the timings, not a night and day difference in performance in day to day use like gaming and apps, sure some difference in doing video work
its not an easy question to answer because it scales, like i doubt a b350 mobo would handle ram @ 3200+ at ease, so it becomes a question of scaling cpu, mobo & ram upwards
so your looking at maybe a 1700, b350, 16gb 2400c15 vs a 3800, x470/x570/ 3200 cl16ish kit and will the difference be night and day? not really, its not like going from a camary to a ferrari but it will pack a punch for sure, but if your going down that road you may as well upgrade your gpu so everything is on par with each other

you can compare performance from price in a sense, 150-200cpu 60-100mobo, 120ram vs 350-450cpu, 200mobo, 250/350ram & gpu worth whatever it comes in at @ second hand, so in conclusion i wouldnt upgrade ram alone, its on par with your cpu at the moment

yea, I will look at the GPU etc later in the year, I want to put the 2400 ram in another system so might as well get the 3200 CL14 for the time being,

Depends if you want to OC and tweak your RAM or not.
3200c16 is near it's limits and wont really OC much more.
3200c14 is a few % faster not really a noticeable amount unless you OC it as it has huge headroom.
Overclocking my 3200c14 RAM to 4000c17 improved CPU performance in most games more than overclocking the CPU from 4.2GHz to 4.7GHz
If you are GPU limited then the higher RAM\CPU speed will make no difference.
