I will likely record a short overview of last nights event. Watching 40 minutes of me isn't as interesting as a quick 2-5 minute overview.

Thought about getting in contact with Google and showing them your work so far? Or you not really interested in doing that?

I would, but I don't exactly have contacts at Google to show. It wouldn't get me anywhere by sending them this anyways, it's highly doubtful they are going to offer me a job or anything.

Ah, if nothing else it would allow you the chance to give your learnings into their ecosystem and vice versa. The more media coverage you can get the better it will be for you. Hope it works out for you mate

I am sure you probably have it in here somewhere, but how much did it cost you to put these together? (Phone aside)

If it hit big sites like Engadget or The Verge it would be fantastic but at this stage I doubt they would run a story about it because they need enough people wanting them to before they dedicate time to it.

Total costs are around $250 at this stage, likely going to reach about $350 by the time it has everything I want.

I did see that today when I went searching for articles. I'm hopeful that enough people can contact The Verge about it that they run a story, that was be the highlight of my year haha.

    Update

I present Flass, with 720p autofocus camera. The system is currently not
operational but I have tested it with a laptop and received my desired results
from the camera. I am waiting on display cables so I can move to the
Beaglebone and also a wifi+bluetooth cape for it so I get all my connectivity.

The camera takes an approximate POV shot, I will likely have to redesign
and create a proper mounting system for it once I can test and ensure
that it will all work in a system with the Beaglebone Black. Until then,
here are two photos showing what it looks like mounted.

Surprisingly most of the parts are very lightweight so it has not become a problem yet. On my personal version I will be making the system will try to account for any weight and pretty much evenly distribute it.

My goal for this one is to be able to put it on someone's head and show them what it does without having to fiddle around with mounts. I have lots of ideas to get the weigh down but I'm not technical enough to concept mainboards, etc. I'm almost at a point where without a massive budget and a heap of people assisting this current version of the 'consumer' model is complete.
