Word of warning: Do not get this game if you dislike micro-management. This game has layers and layers of complexity. Each layer adds another mini-buff to you or your defences. It's like they've taken elements from PoE (a multi-path skill tree), tower defense using a mine-craft element, mobile-like time based resource quests combined with manual resource hunting, upgradeable everything, multi-class with sub-classes. It feels overwhelming, but it's not if you don't let it. I have spent subjective days tuning builds with the right gear in D3 and this game has that too, but without the annoyance of waiting for that 1 drop as you can tweak or level dozens of things. They really need to give more incentives for people who can't appreciate the depth to keep playing as I think this could become a truly excellent game. Some very smart people have built this game.
Upgraded to Ultimate Whale spec last night, so ended up with a couple more codes. Just PMed them to Samblurr and K1ll3r. Enjoy.
I'm not sure how its hosted honestly, but when I invite randoms in to help defend my personal base, they mention there is more ping than they're used to in the US. I wonder if whoever launches the map is the host.
What's it like for local co-op? Interested in playing with my wife, but might have to wait until the price drops a bit.
Rock solid. Wife and I are playing and it's really good. No lag, easy to party up and join and it's mostly balanced (sometimes no-map task rewards don't get shared properly).
So i've been playing now for a solid week. I'm very impressed. There's sometimes some very laggy periods whether or not the servers a struggling I don't know but there's a patch coming next week so we'll see if its fixed. Great rewards, easy to pickup. I like it a lot more than other survivals as it's not so serious and a lot more rewarding.
It depends on whether you play as a party or solo. If you're solo you can start the missions as soon as you find the requirements on the map. If you're in a party with others they might wish to farm resources first and setup better traps etc. ~10 mins solo with small amount of farming + setup ~20 mins with a party with a bit of farming and setup of traps/defences Have a look at some gameplay vids on youtube.
i have a 16 month old and manage to find time to get away and play so i think i'm going alright 8 months old.. ahh the days of 2+ sleeps
We can take up to an hour if we farm to 999 mats. Plus we like to over-complicate things, given we have an 8 and 10-year-old playing too.
hey guys, i've convinced a friend to play Fortnite but he wants to see what its like first as $45AUD is a bit much to trial something that will eventually become free... any chance anyone has a key they can share please? Similar to what Droopz did for myself..
I was reading on reddit, that the spare copys usually go for $20-$25 USD on their trading section. Alternatively, If anyone here is thinking of upgrading their copy or making a purchase, it might be worth asking here to see if anyone here wants to subsidise their purchase. I'm still enjoying the game. But It's a little hard to find games at certain times. I'm halfway through plankerton right now. If anyone wants to add me my username is "SpaceFrogJuan"
