I thought there was already a thread? If so can it be merged if someone links it up.

New trailer with alot of info.

Quite keen! Coming to game pass and steam.

    There was!

Rolled eyes at no release date though still  Can see the compromises compared to GT7 in terms of image quality and material quality for RT within races but I think it looks great so far and want to see this sing on pc!

Ah that thread was console plebs :p

yeah seem to see less and less confirmed dates to allow delays these days.

Visually I think it keeps up with GT7, but has to be some sacrifices to enable 4K HDR DXR vs GT7 with no DXR.

The sounds seem great so far.

Wouldn’t be so sure about sacrifices, the forza engine and turn10s optimisation of it is pretty crazy

my main concern would be… are they going to repeat the painful monetisation mistakes of Forza 7

mesaoz completely missed the boat of 7 besides experimenting with apex on pc how bad was it?

Seems they have a forza monthly event up right now:

What do you mean? Last I checked forza 7 had no micro transactions. Maybe it did initially?

Fair enough. I'm sure they didn't mind you boycotting  but it's good to stick to what you believe in.

No huge loss it wasn't the best. I still think forza motorsport 4 was the best.

It wasn't a boycott for me, I just didn't want to play a game with those features.

FM 3 and FM 4 are legendary. I have the collectors edition of both of them.

Hope we actually see serious improvements to the physics engine. Not losing sleep over it, but a date in 'coming 2023' would be nice, was supposed to be released last yr!

Looks interesting, if it actually performs like a real sim.
Got bored of Horizon 5 quickly, it's just mario kart but pretty, nothing realistic at all.

The motorsport series was always pretty good for that imo, as good as you could expect of something designed with a gamepad in mind.

Always loved digging into fine tuning diff and suspension setups in motorsport 2/3/4/5

Horizon series is somewhat dumbed down physics but out of all the arcade racers it's the most realistic by far.

Motorsport is not a full sim like iRacing/Assetto Corsa but really it's still a 'simcade' at best

Hopefully with this one they manage to please all ends of the spectrum from sim nuts (physics and good wheel support) and the casuals using a controller.

Sim racers are a pedantic, picky bunch. Given they're not exactly thrilled by GT7 (rather meh, its ok; more excited by graphics & exposure it provides to the industry), I'm pretty confident FM8 will be the same or less.

FM car setups and tuning are a gimmick but its always been designed as so. That doesn't mean core physics have to be though. I just hope they dont use the same engine (or something similar) to what's currently in FH5 when steering is set to "Simulation" <-- thats very ordinary & worse than standard.

FM7 is a fair whack more realistic than FH5. They simulate down to tire roll, I have even noticed tuning differences in FH5 though.

I think FM(8) won't please sim racers but they are a small niche anyway. Suits more casual players like me.

oh most definately- and you'd think they'd be using FM7's physics engine as a base and building from there (again though, wouldn't surprise if they started with FH5 / reworked that).

Simulation "effects" have been there since day dot; they're noticeable; just not overly realistic, hence simcade. I would love to see them cross that hurdle though, somewhere between simcade & full blown sim. Or in another words- a friendly sim.

Turn 10 is building on the accessibility features they added to Motorsport 7 and FH5 and now adding audio cues for the visually impaired. To the point a legally blind person can drive and race a car in Forza.

Pretty epic I got a bit emotional watching that as going blind is 1 of my biggest fears.
