the new Telstra bundles can get you the following:

Foxtel IQ Platinum HD pack (all channels)
    Home line budget
    200gb broadband

    = $198/month

see: http://www.telstra.com.au/bundle_save/home-bundles.html (remember to remove the T-Box option @ $11/month)

i guess it depends on how much net/home phone you use, but you should be able to ring Telstra for a better deal

    are you on contract?

    i negotiated with Foxtel direct

I'm on contract for the last plan, $248/month, with home line ultimate and 500GB ultimate cable. Signed onto it about 4 months ago and on contract for another 20 lol

Do you have Foxtel via bundle too? I'm just wondering whether it is worth calling Telstra or Foxtel to try and get a discount :D

Even if it is just a discounted upgrade to HD and another multiroom

sucks being on contract for another 20 months!

nah, i have Foxtel stand-alone. was considering a Telstra bundle, but only really need Foxtel and Broadband, and they always want to throw in a home phone

you may as well call Telstra and/or Foxtel and ask the question, but you don't really have any leverage (i.e. threatening to disconnect) as you're on contract

let us know how you go :)

$198 is an okay deal. Nothing special though considering the wealth of other internet options out there with far bigger caps that don't count uploads and the whole 24 month contract thing. The only thing that is really handy is having a single bill to pay each month which probably isn't $30 of convenience if you were to go with something like TPG unlimited.

even one talking about contracts and waiting until they are finished etc - they are not worth anything anymore. You can cancel it at anytime with no payout due to the change to the FTA

I am about to cancel my foxtel.. Been on plat for ahwile and out of contract now - i did want the AFL for next season but paying over $145 per month is sill when I can watch 3 or 4 live games for that money..

I was in Europe and i think my sister was paying something like $20 for god only knows how many channels.. (I know diff market size... still we get ripped just because we are in AU and we can take it! :/)

For anyone that has it solely for sports, which package do you have?

I think I'll just be getting Sports + HD when the time comes.

everything except movies + IQ = $45 per month including IQ

They give it to me for 6 months, I call back 5 months later to cancel and they give me 6 months extension again.

Been ongoing for 3 years now :wired:

I'm a 'possible first time Foxtel customer' here... kinda. I got Foxtel on 360 a week or so ago, Get Started + Sport = $29.95. I merely bought it to try it. I've only been happy with the live sport (English & Spanish leagues) & maybe some of the games I watch delayed, other than that, I can't justify the $29.95/m.

I considered the $50/m offer when they first promoted it months ago. Get Started + Sports + iQ = $50/m. Sounds great.

    However, I later realised it'd be far better to get;
    Get Started + Sports + HD + iQHD = $71/m (+$10/m for iQHD) = $81/m.

To me, that allows you to manipulate the plan (ie; add HD & iQHD).

Throw in mutliroom, adding another iQHD, the installation cost for the 2nd box is $150. If you could put a price on someone 3rd party, running RG6 to the new room, on a new/existing wall plate, it'd cost $30-40. Then you pay $25/m for the 2nd box.

    Get Started + Sports + HD + iQHD = $71/m (+$10/m for iQHD) = $81/m.
    iQHD #2 = $25/m
    = $106/m

    Standard Installation = $100
    iQHD Upgrade Fee = $100
    iQHD #2 Installation Fee = $150
    = $350.

Apologies if this post is considered to be negative, but this is intended for new customers, looking at multiroom.

you can normally get them to waive the installation fees if you push hard enough ;)

Managed to get a decent one IMHO

Sports HD with the IQ, and a second box (non IQ) for $91 p/m instead of $117.

I think the deal is set up for only 4 or so months, but the guy said to call when its about to expire and they can have a chat then, which i understand to mean extend it or offer something similar.

Saves me $54 p/month over what I had, and only miss out on the Movies which I have not watched for about 6 months!

My package is IQ with basic + kids + drama /lifesyle + knowlege and adventure no sports or movies for $77 per month on a 12 mth contract but the first six months were discounted and had some movies. Contract expires 23 Dec 11 so will see what deal they can offer otherwise its bye bye.

Good to see what others have got though
