Hey folks. I'm contemplating getting a Framework 13 for wifey, and the $75 asking price for the PSU is gnawing at me a bit. Anyone used cheaper USB power supplies with these and are there any recommendations?

I’ve got a few different ones, this one has been working well for $70
    https://www.amazon.com.au/120W-USB-GaN-Charger-1USB/dp/B0DJNS5XCF/

My favourite is this little 65w one from MoPoint that I ordered from Kickstarter a while back.

I imagine there’s a mainstream version of something similar if your backpack is already full like mine and size matters.

Here’s what looks like a rebrand of the MoPoint GaN 65w for $43 with next day delivery from Amazon.

That’s a couple of choices for you to mull over. :)

Well I just ordered a new DIY 13” AMD with the midrange Ryzen™ AI 7 350
    Up to 5.0 GHz
    8 cores
    16 threads
    50Top
I picked the 2.8k screen too. Grabbed a 2x 48GB ddr5 5600mt so-dimm kit from Amazon as they were the cheapest. I already have a new Samsung 4TB to go in it.
    For my use case, I ordered this port combo of 2x type-C + hdmi port+ 2.5Gb/s NIC + 2x type-A
I already have a charger and I’ll be running Ubuntu.

All of that with a weight of 1.3kg
    Happy Days! :D:leet:

    This post speaks to me.

I like what he's doing but he's so unlikeable.

    Thanks for the suggestions Blinky.

Kind of, but just general research on what horsepower will be there when I need to wind it up. The longer battery life for the most part will be a blessing over my 13" Intel based MB-Pro, but the 50Tops will be nice too for ollama.

It's a "Batch 4" that ships in May.

US. International is for Europeans (€, AltGr). If you go to the laptop configuration page there's photos in the section where you pick a keyboard.

Yes thanks, that’s how I did it in the end too. I had ordered Eng-US and after blowing up the three different English keyboards pictures I left it as `Eng-US'.

Anyone with the Framework 16... have you found a good laptop bag?

Pondering this effort, but the MacBook Pro 16" which they quote in the description as a laptop that fits is 35.5cm wide, but my 16" portable monitor is 36cm. And the framework 16 is kinda deep as well hitting 29cm with the graphics module. I have pinged the company, but they haven't gotten back to me yet.

    Just wondering.

I had a similar problem with my 16" Lenovo and was going to suggest mine, but when I checked for you, they don't seem to make it anymore. :(

    Oh. That's not good.
Might not be them though as I've seen a high number of knockoffs on AliExpress ...
