Work on potential firmware hack / custom firmware. You won't hear about it for a while. ;)

Anyone bought the x100 from DWI?

Is it different to the retail version at all? Chargers etc...

Awesome! Always was a little worried I'd miss the 28mm of my SLR, looks like I don't need to now :)

Edit: Other forums seem to think it's gonna be around the $375 mark RRP, it'd wanna have pretty damn good optical quality for that price :Paranoid:

Edit MKII: Sample images look good, I'm in if they can be had for $300 grey.

I have a cheapie 0.7x converter which approximates a 24mm FOV once mounted - but there's so much flaring it's ridiculous.

That wide angle converter looks interesting. I am travelling a bit with mine and often find having something a bit wider would be nice.

I used to have a 5D with a 16-35/2.8 and an 85/1.2. The 85mm lens was of course fantastic for portraits and I was sad to sell it, but I have to say the quality of the portraits I can get out of the X100 and its fast lens continue to impress me.

Having pretty girls around to take photos of helps!

Bit of a thread bump, I was wondering how what peoples opinions of x100 are now after a fair while..love it ? Fell out of love with it?

I dont see many images in the galary taken with the x100 so wondering are most up the back of the cupboard....

I'm looking for something a bit different, was thinking of a secondhand x100, but now they are talking x200 may be worth he wait...

I still love mine, but nowadays it's mostly been getting travel / party / fun use, since I've done my serious street photography on film.

It's still a quirky camera, so if you know anyone that has one, see if you can try it out, otherwise, I'd hang around for the X200.

    I replaced my 7d and 30 1.4 with the x100 and I've no regrets.

I've got the EF-20 as well - use it with a canon ettl cable and you've got an amazingly good party camera.

Still the most exciting and fun camera that I've ever used.

    Subjects still find it endearing.
