Curious to see which monitors however just goes to show G Sync was a sham all along to try and lock you into their hardware.

It won't matter if you own them already and can just do an update. What I'm saying is as soon as the market grows the price will too. Eg. GPU prices when mining. Can do more do it's worth more right?

Samsung QLED TV.. Good enough input lag and have FreeSync I believe.

Also have game motion plus interpolation which doesn't have super high input lag.. Make 30fps look like 60fps+ Woot.

    Edit or buy this

I think you are pretty hopeful. Nvidia doing everything it can to scam extra out of its customers. I guess the benefits of essentially being a monopoly at the bleeding edge.

Guys like you and or I would get burned. Glad I didnt pay for GSync though. Dont need GSync when your getting 100+FPS :)

    4k HDR 144hz G-Sync compatible..

    https://www.anandtech.com/show/1329...xv273k-monitor-4kp144-displayhdr-400-freesync

Cheaper alternative to the 4k G-Sync 144hz HDR panels.. the HDR wont be as good though.

Yes, yes you do.. If it ever dips below 100fps (which it will unless you play cs:go only) G-Sync/Freesync shines.

Is even noticeable stutter dropping from 144fps to 100fps which G-Sync eliminates.

Unless you are on 1080p and if so eww.

Yeah its just not that good. I remember people wetting themselves over it. I play at 1440P. I play high FPS. I went and watched in person even tested a few. In the end, it was just another way for people to jerk off about how superior they were. Certainly wasnt worth paying $200 extra for the exact same monitor.

Thank god they are doing it, it’s probably due to no one dropping the extra cash for it. Feel bad for those who paid for a g-sync for Xmas though.

I only had a 980 and needed a new monitor so I got the X34 on sale knowing the last one did me for 8+ years. It helped but was a little shitty to pay that extra just because I was on the Nvidia ship.

This was about 2 years ago.

I'm glad this has happened, it should be available to all like free sync.

The problem with Freesync has always been shitty vendors slap "Gaming" and "Freesync" on based grade monitors that just manages to meet requirements.

While I love the idea of open standards its this sort of shit that sucks for consumers. A least with G-Sync you could get consistant experience across various brands which you can't say with Freesync especially some of the early freesynce enabled ones.

You are free to turn it on with any freesync/variable refresh rate monitor, but until your monitor is validated by NVIDIA it is not guaranteed to work without issues.

Amazingly I recently purchased the Asus MG278Q Freesync monitor at a discount price and it is one of the first few models stamped as "G-sync compatible", as now tested and supported by NVIDIA.

Initially I paired the screen with a very nice Nitro+ RX 580, but that was never going to cut it for both high settings + framerates in many games at 1440P. 2019 was always going to see an upgrade...certainly something to keep in mind going into this year with the RTX 2060 coming, Vega 2 and/or Navi coming, maybe even see some good price drops on RTX 2070's?? (we can hope)

Has opened me right up to the possibility of jumping straight back over to the green team soon. GGWP NVIDIA
