Nice. I'm looking forward to your review. On another note, the Gigabyte website posts it as XL-ATX but dimensions look awfully similar to SSI CEB. Any confirmation on that?

Silly X16 slot layout. Got a dual slot GPU? Can't use that fancy wireless card in the X1 slot in front of it. Second slot is only X8. You'd have to use the third slot.

I guess it doesn't really matter if they're 3.0 slots and you have a 2.0 card, but it seems motherboard manufacturers can't get it right anymore.

I do like what they've done with the front panel header. Very stylish and works well. no more flipping through the manual!

It's the only layout you can have for quad sli/xfire without going to a custom board format

True I suppose. I wish we would see more single slot designs for high end cards, it would fix all these slot spacing issues.

Do want. Been holding out for month for this bad boy.
It's just a shame it looks like it'll be released mid May rather than having it out for IVB release :(

They could have gone with the a single PCI-E x 1 slot above the first PCIE x16 slot like what they've been doing with the Asus boards or the wireless card using a pin header and poke out via the back I/O panel, like what Asus have done with theirs.

    Thanks man!

which site? it did say ATX-XL however i reported that to GB and it has now been changed to eATX, b/c it is eATX and NOT ATX-XL, infact it is barley eATX, it is only slightly wider.

I can compare size direct with UD5h and it is the same length, and about a few mm wider.

Thanks guy, review is coming on Monday.

    You got me all Confused......

I had my sights on the ECS Golden Wonder, but your current z77 review here has gotten me all........ confused about what I really want. Just love the small Golden skull with a blade between it's teeth.......CHOICE.

Gigabyte has done it again, solid offerings in the realm of Z77s and X79s.

You need to take a look closely at the new Sniper Edition X79 please.

    Doesn't this company ever stop?

the Gigabyte GA-Z77X5-UD5H has a pci-ex1 above the first x16 slot

why would you want any more then tri ? lets face it, they are not making games for PC's anymore, most are ports and one card will run them

Doubt it, why would they refresh an x79 board, when in <12 months time the IVB-E and the related chipset will be released?

Looks good apart from the fact it comes with SB Core3D instead of an X-Fi like the other G1 Sniper's, core3D sucks and is only 5.1 too.

    +1 Agreed.

They have removed one of the major selling points. Tricky to run an Xfire and Xfi card at the best of times and having onboard xfi took it out of the equation. As said the best solution is having a 4x as the first top slot.

Recon is an Epic fail downgrade. I might Move over to the 2011 Ass2.
