Slightly unusual email in the news box this evening, from Ken:

I have an old Gigabyte GA-EP45T-EXTREME Motherboard that I am no longer using. It was removed from a working system. I am happy to donate it to a collector rather than bin it.
I live in Hervey Bay, Queensland.

If anyone's keen, let me know, and I'll pass him on your details. Pick-up better than post, I assume.

Hmm very nice board. Remember reading about these in AtomicPC mag about the ridiculous amount of copper it has thanks to there SilentPipe thermal concept. Too bad its pickup only.

I'm local and I'm in the process of decking out my shed. I'll use it as a display piece for an idea I have in mind. PM sent.

I remember building those things back in the day. You applied the supplied thermal paste to the block and then simply screwed it in with 4 screws. They never use to quite fit in snuggly because they had those two pipes which had to fit in on a couple of grooves made for it on the block, not to mention they weren't exactly of the highest quality. But with the thermal paste and the screws holding it down it did enough.

Still have a hard time thinking of 775 being retro or collectable as it doesn't seem that long ago!

I have the DS4 in my collection, if it falls through i can organize pickup.

The Ds4 and this mobo made me laugh when all the manufactures couldnt think of any way to cool the X570 without a fan lol.

I also had issues fitting my water cooling block to it, had to slowly wiggle the black past the fins.

Ah when mb manufacturers make crazy roller coaster chipset heatsinks. I remember there was a MSI? one that looked like a theme park. Good times.

Yeah me too. I had a model or 2 below the board above and its chipset output way more than X570 and its heatsink handled it without being as crazy as the Extreme board listed above.

    Kind gesture from the fella

    Collector or Overclocker?
We have Country Cup coming next month on HWBot.
A prime motherboard for the FSB stages. I’m happy to put a hand up for the team, we can bin the best board.

if he comes down to the coast or can meet Gympie, I can make the trip half way north.
