    Thought we could have a thread for game engine news, particularly for engines available to developers for free such as Unreal Engine, Unity, Godot, etc.

    One little nugget I just came across deals with a common complaint;
    Well a recent post by an Epic employee regarding upcoming features with regards to ray-tracing mentions "Multi-GPU support - A future release." So that could be cool. Although, perhaps it will only share the workload for the ray-tracing specific calcs?

    I'd save my money and just get the one GPU.

    I'm all for SLI making a comeback, UE4 is used in so many games if it supported SLI more people would look into it. A shame Nvidia doesn't allow cards like 2060 to do it though..

    Fortnight isn't a good engine.
    There is just no polygons or textures to render hence shitbox can run it.

    The Further Adventures of Ray Tracing - and why you should give a damn (Minecraft Edition)

    A lot of fluff has been written about Nvidia's RTX andAMD's agnostic approach to the same effect - mainly using tiny bits of Metro Exodus or Battlefield V as examples. The original reveal (by Epic btw) showing ray-tracing on a chrome Phasma, highlighted a minuscule part of why this is important moving forwards.

    Alex Battaglia from Digital Foundry, assisted by John Linneman - takes you on a tour of what this means to in game lighting effects, with a modded version of that cutting edge game... Minecraft?. It pushes both their rigs pretty hard.

    Well, that was very visually informative. :thumbup:

    How it's garnered it's massive popularity I'll never really know.
