That's it. Another game I clocked many hours on. :D I think that was one of a few games I brought back with me from a trip to Holland at the time.

I suspect the system may be easy enough to work out, but what about the game?

You got it. Its a really good game actually, who would have thought you could do a platformer on a Vector based system.

I played the third a fair bit but can't think of the name :( I know it's not Xenon II!

Did you ever use the trick in stellar 7 where you'd shoot one of the crystals near the first boss for about 5 minutes and it would turn in to a teleport to the last level? I don't know if it worked for any crystal or if it needed to be near the boss. Game got kinda boring after that discovery.

Yep cosmo is right, I think I was in year 6 when that was around.

Shooting crystals in stellar7 rings a bell but I only just recognised that screenshot, because of the odd looking controls I think, and the name when it was mentioned.. never would have thought of it myself. going to have to hunt down a video of the gameplay or something to bring it all back! I wonder how many other games like that i've totally forgotten. It brought back a really familiar but distant feeling, awesome.

Haha, I just looked up stellar 7 and realised that I've played it on the Apple 2! I never remembered the name of it, and didn't make it past the second level, but there you go. I didn't pick it because the Apple 2 version looks amazingly different.

That vertical scrolling shooter that osmodiar posted looks super familiar. Was thinking maybe Overkill or Kiloblaster but its definitely not those.

The one posted above is Eye of the Behloder 2 :)

Galactix! Found it by remembering it was on the orange "so much shareware" cd that was out in 1992...old age is starting to sink in :(

here's one for everyone - if you ever played this, you'll remember the nuke which was AWESOME.

haha, yep.. Galactix. So simple but something really addictive about that game.

I don't recognise the tank screenshot, but here's another hopefully tricky blast from the past :)
