Jones in the Fast lane definatly...great game, go the burger shop and the 'security' apartment

Skyroads was a classic. Still it doesnt need a remake, its already awesome.

    Captain comic, another classic.

This is bringing back so many memories...

Magic Carpet, the reason i shelled out 150 for my 8meg voodooII card.

SreetRod and Stunts, i think the NFS did or tried to make a updated Streed Rod, never saw the finished product?

And my all time favourite, Reunion..

Has anyone else played this, not the X3 type. Its quite an old dos game, I still play it today and i cant win without cheats it's so difficult.

Has anyone played this, very interested to hear if anyone else has?

Modern 3d engine? I reckon it could be hot. Also, I'd like to see the old Star Wars flight sims remade. They were alot of fun in their day.

Except it was cancelled... so they really don't know if it was going to be the next blockbuster

Isn't Black & White essentially a remake of Populous?

    Agreed & agreed

Colonization was a bit more limited than Civilization, but still fun

I only played Syndicate Wars briefly, but I prefer the original's gameplay.

    Hmmmm.

Betrayal At Krondor....Changed my life (intro to fantasy genre)

Loved that game and so did my sister (who doesn't like computer games). The old chest puzzles, general gameplay, character development was fun. (man how many odd suits of armour and weapons did I loot, 'repair' and dump so I could get characters skills up.....

Colonisation. Good game. Could do alot more with it these days. BTW who said Indians were defenseless?!?! I used to feed em horses and guns (those not immediately in my way that is)

Alpha Centauri. Not sure how they could rehash the game but man was it good. They could do alot more with it with todays tech.

Starcraft is pretty obvious. However Blizzard will have to be SUPER Careful to get it just right, otherwise even a Medicore Starcraft 2 will devalue the entire Blizzard Franchise. SC and the BW x-pack still command $20 each, equal to or more then other semi-classic games 3-4 years old....Diablo2 is the same.

LOL at the guys who suggested:

    Captain Comic
    Golden Axe
    Final Fight

Great games but what else could you do with them?

Some people seem to be confusing remakes with sequels. A remake of Starcraft would still involve the same storyline, whereas SC2 (you know it will be made) is completely different from the ground up.

Just in case this becomes a poll in the near future....

    my vote goes to :

    Transport Tycoon .... !!

Been mentioned a few times here before, it must have been part of a lot of ppl's lives here...

They MUST bring it back, now that our rigs are so much faster !!

I saw Duke Nukem Forever for sale in Chinatown ! lol.

    Jazz jack rabbit
Jetfighter 1 (or another non-serious flight sim, where u can have all the fun of dogfights without the technical details getting in the way.)
    Commander Keen
    Golden Axe
    Shadow warrior
    Giants:Citizen Kabuto
    Mechwarrior II
    Raptor
    Captain Comic

I played Skyroads, but I dont think it would benefit from a remake either...

There have been a few votes for syndicate/wars. I'll back this 100% but I prefer the original, no other game has been so memorable. Great game. Great.

I might try and play it now - hope it's not too difficult to get running.

can i just say, BEST THREAD EVER! I'm always thinking, why do you game companies pass up the chance to remake classic games! There are so many with great concepts, why not re-use them but inject some modern graphics, sound. Why waste all those great ideas!!!

    system shock
    populous
    colonization
    ufo: enemy unknown

    some oddball ones:
    heimdall
    turican
<someone's forgot name> 4x4 offroad iron man (little 4x4 toyota hilux looking cars racing around crazy tracks, from isometric view)

Don't know what planet your'e from, but Syndicate Wars definetley wasn't fucked up. Better than the original in my opinion. It's on my best games ever list. What's so bad about it then?

"If" Syndicate/Syndicate Wars was remade, how would we improve on the original? Sure we would take advantage of the latest graphics technology, but apart from better visuals wouldn't we just have the same game?

    Let old dogs be.

    Not mentioned already:
    Longbow 2
    Nuclear War (amiga)
    Micro Machines (amiga)
    Sheep
    Worms
    Moon Patrol

    Ones mentioned already:
    Elite
    Xwing vs Tie Fighter
    Double Dragon
    Golden Axe
    Commander Keen
    Starcraft
    Silkworm series (amiga)
    Speedball 2 (amiga)

What needs doing... Modern graphics, bug fixes, and for some port them to PC. Don't change anything else.

    Daniel.
