As per the title, we were hankering for some chicken and beer on Saturday night in Melbourne.

It's a tiny Korean restaurant on Little Lonsdale st. Busy as hell, naturally had about a half an hour wait for a table (which we spent at the bar next door). When we got seated they told us we had 30 minutes to get in and get the fuck out.

Honestly, after tasting the food they could have told me to eat it out of the fucking toilet and I would have agreed. This is hands down, the best fried chicken you will ever have in your life. I'm not here to write some pompus foodie review. I'm here to tell you this place is fucking insane.

It's not cheap, but it's all cooked there for you and I think for two fat nerds it cleared maybe 50 bucks with 18 pieces of chicken, a Jug of their tapped beer and a starter.

Don't even bother reading reviews about this. Just go eat it. Seriously.

I'm not fat, it's all muscle

It was $66.50 for a whole chook (which comes in pieces for $34), jug of beer, and a 'starter' (I actually think it was a regular menu item for people who didn't want chicken ).

The chicken was great. We got the original and store-speciality sweet chilli flavourings. The chicken itself was very moist and quite tender. The sweet chilli topping was simultaneously sticky, moist and crunchy - no mean feat I am sure.

    Great post.

Had Gami at the one on King St near the Spearmint Rhino.

Was very, very good, tried 3 of the flavours overall, all went down well with the beer.

Definitely recommend it. Possibly clubhouse leader in the KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) stakes.

There's a few places to try like Gami that are pretty nice from experience:

Chick In off Collins St. Went for the lunch while working in the city. It gets busy and its basically first in best dressed and they will turn people away because there are full. I'd argue its just as good as Gami for KFC.

By Korea around the corner from Chick In is also very good.

But Gami was fantastic. Will have to try this place in Glen Waverley, sounds awesome...

I have been there twice now, the hot spicy sauce is delicious and packs a bit of a wallop.
