I'm not all that great, I just have the gear. Still a learner.

I hear you, I go out on a photo and last minute people always ask if I can do a video. Stills and video have very different approaches.

Oh yeah. I get the opposite, thankfully I can just say my camera doesn't do stills which is half true.

I don't really have a choice a lot of the time, when people 'request' video is usually means 'you will do it'. I do however have access to half a dozen GoPros, so I just stick them everywhere and hope for the best :Paranoid: ...Then spend hours trolling trough footage.

Good thing my work is nearly exclusively used for in house training/promotion/entertainment.

Was quite surprised yesterday at how good the 120fps iPhone 5s footage is. Just randomly filmed a mates ALS challenge thing and pulled it into premiere along footage from a 6D. Ramp up to 120fps and back is seamless.

    Great stuff

lol. Don't know what to say. Why don't they just release it like that in the first place. It's not even an upgrade.

Taking away one of the parts of Leica that make it universally known, even in non-photog circles...well that's an interesting move.

They're just kinda rehashing what they did with the M9 -> M9-P, where they got rid of the red dot and put the Leica script on top, added a sapphire crystal cover on the LCD, changed the finish a bit and then gouged people extra for it. At least this time they also doubled the image buffer. And the interesting thing to me, reintroduced the frame selector lever.

As mentioned above, they did it with the M9-P, and the film MP cameras also don't have the red dot either.

He's just point out that because its OCAU, there's a fair few people (myself very much included) who have all the gear/get gear upgrade-itis/more focused on gear, rather than improving skillz.

I'm looking to buy a set of extension tubes and hoping that what I will be getting will be of good quality and hopefully have electronics to work with the STM autofocus of my 40mm f/2.8 pancake.

I'm seeing a variety of tubes on eBay and am not sure if any one particular brand is better than the other. Any suggestions/advice towards the brands Kenko ($28), Meike ($26) and a no-name brand ($7) which states it has some electronics to work with Canon cameras.

Which one should I go for?

Canon? Just buy them off ebay - make sure they have the metal pins for the electrical conductors - should cost about $20 or $30...

I've always wondered if the cheaper ebay ones with the metal rod going through to connect contacts introduces any internal reflections?

Considering the tubes have anti-reflective threading in them..

I'm pretty sure the metal is not exposed inside the tube - I'll have to have a look when I get home.
