    After a few decades of not flying anything I am getting back in to rc planes. Just ordered the Horizon Hobby e-flite apprentice sts 15. Looking for it to arrive and get back to planes.

    Are all planes made from foam these days? Seems gone are the days when we built them out of balsa.

    Hi have 2 of the
    Spektrum 3200mah 3S 11.1v 30C Smart LiPo Batteries part SPMX32003S30.

    Should I discharge them if they are not going to be used for a month?

    Also interested in the correct storage methods for longer periods without being used.
    Killed 2x SMC 3S since building my Tekno... :(

    do you have a proper Lipo charger? i.e B6 etc? They should all have a storage charge program built in, which will take them up to around 3.8v / cell. (No they should not be kept discharged )

    if you don't have such a charger, you should get one. They'll more than pay for themselves vs replacing premature battery deaths

    Sorry, so those smart batteries self discharge to Storage voltage after a few days automatically. So you just charge them fully as normal, then store.

    Storage charge on the charger is what dish-oh needs to do.
