Purchased from forums with cash receipt (MSY) and I'm wondering how the warranty works.

Should I return to MSY or would it be an rma?

About to take it to someboredguy and check if it's not a PSU issue...

    Regards,
    GDavid

3 year warranty from Gigabyte I believe. I'd just rock up to MSY with it, they'll probably test it on the spot if they're not too busy.

I'm pretty sure that Gigabyte Australia will make you return it to the place of purchase anyway.

Pretty sure it's 2 years in Australia (3 years in America and some other countries even have extended options with warranty cards), but you're protected by consumer law, and it would be unreasonable to think that a 980Ti is end of life.

Thanks posters, unit is currently in rma c-o MSY who tested it on 3 machines which it prevented from powering on.

Has been suggested 2 years local +1 Gigabyte...

In the past, there were warranty info cards in the box which stated 3 Years warranty on the GFX cards. It seem they're Not very forthcoming with the warranty info on their web site.
    Xtreme cards have 4 years:
Whole duration of the warranty is with the manufacturer, the shop has obligation to forward the faulty product to the manufacturer/distributor for a period of time.

Will keep you posted, still awaiting return from rma. It was returned to manufacturer by MSY.

considering MSY just got slapped with a massive fine from ACCC *again* recently, they'll behave in the mean time
    https://www.accc.gov.au/media-relea...000-for-consumer-guarantee-misrepresentations

I would pay a fraction more for something over $100 with more trust worthy shops* like Mwave or PCCG

Recently RMA my EVGA 980 with PCCG, they credited me the original purchase price instead of getting EVGA to provide a replacement card.[IMG]

yeah, i know - i was there a couple of years ago, when I pointed out that the large sign they had hanging in their store, stating on 3 months warranty, was a contravention of the TPA. Told them it was BS. They got slapped with a similar fine back soon after........so that's why I asked....

Gigabyte will not accept direct rma, so take it to msy.

    Opps, only read the OP

After the second ACCC fine, I took a two months old gpu, they offered refund, exchange or credit. I was expecting long delays wait8ng for rma.

They will do basic testing, in my case it was 3 separate mainboards which all failed to boot...
