So I bought a 4890 the other day and installed it and when it is on, the fan makes this rattling/ vibrating/ shaking noise. Is this normal?

Also, I don't know if this is normal but when I it is on around 85% load (Far cry 2 benchmark test), the fan speed is around 1500rpm (26%). And when idle, fan is at around 1050rpm (22%).

Doesnt sound normal.. Mine is loud, but no rattling..

As for fan speed, if left on auto. its not overly audible.

I had to RMA a 4890 for a 'rattly' noise. Turns out it was the wire inside the fan touching a moving part on the inside.

'Wiggling' the exposed bit of power cable for the fan could make it worse/better, but it would come back.

Seems I may have a dud 4890 card with this same issue - So I would be correct to assume this is ment to be no rattle noise and only an air moving noise from the card right? At some fan speeds mine sounds like a chain saw...

Yay for another RMA fight- glad I didnt sell the old card yet
