G'day, I understand this is somewhat of a common question however I really can't decide which strobe to get for my home portrait studio. I have done as much research as I possibly can but still cannot decide between these strobe models:

    Jinbei DM3 400Ws
    http://www.protog.com.au/buy/jinbei-dm3-400ws-studio-flash-head/JB400DM3

    Godox QS-400
    http://www.godox.com/EN/Products_Studio_Flash_QS_Series.html

I already have a Yongnuo IV Flash and two RF-603 II N3 wireless flash triggers which have served me well but I now wish to expand my possibilities. I would also be interested to hear other possible suggestions.

    Thanks,

    Sam

I have the Jinbei twin head kit and I can't complain. I also bought the portable power pack as most of my shoots are out on location.

But in hind sight I would have spent the couple hundred extra for a couple HD600's to get the built in battery and HSS option.

But as I said I almost exclusively use them out on location so having the battery built in would be very useful.

I've no doubt the Godox would be better built though. Not that there is anything at all wrong with the Jinbei's. I find their build quality to be identical to lower spec Elinchrom's that I have also used. I am not sure on price difference though?

    Hi Bear,

Thanks for your reply. Both units now retail at $300 so its just a matter of which one I should go for. I don't see myself using the strobe outside, its just for the garage which is a one and half car size garage. Would 400Ws be too much for that size studio just for doing Portraits?. Also I have two Yongnuo RF-603 II N3 wireless flash triggers, can these be used with either strobe?

This was shot in a single car garage using both of my lights. Can't remember the power settings.
